For me... (In order)

The Last of Us II
Cyberpunk 2077
Nioh 2
Halo Infinite
Wasteland 3
Minecraft Dungeons
Ghost of Tsushima

I really doubt Half Life Alyx ships this year. I love Lego games and am looking forward to Star Wars Skywalker, but it is just a continuation game to me. Ori and the Will of the Wisps was very close to making my top 7, but there is so many bigger games and I love RPG/Dungeon Cra...

@PhoenixUp.
I renewed my PS Now at $100 CDN in August per year and PS+ At $60 CDN. So it was $160 CDN for me.

@rainslacker @isarai
I never said the subscriptions were required at all. I am just saying that if you have the subscriptions they were a similar price.

When you are talking about a subscription for games there is two key decision factors. 1) Quality of games and 2) Timeliness of game releases.

I think both services have about the same quality of games. What separates GamePass is its timeliness. Having first party studios deliver to GamePass is a big plus. If PS Now was to deliver first party games on Day One, the service would sky rocket.

It should be noted that the prices are similar if you have Gam...

The 360 was neck and neck with PS3 all generation. Both consoles sold about the same amount total. You can argue that 360 sold less because of RRoD, and that is fine. I had a few consoles that RRoD, but MS replaced them free so I am not sure how many real sales can be attributed to RRoD. My launch PS3s also was dead mid-way through the generation so there my experience was that the consoles both had issues, it is just Sony's lasted longer. In a 10 year life cycle that these consoles ...

What games did XB offer to compete against PS4? The only MS games in the 90's this gen is Forza Horizon. IT wasn't even a competition as Sony churned out 90 scoring exclusives, XB was often non-existent. I think XB has done good the past two years and the studio purchases were very good, but frankly as an XB owner MS was underwhelming this gen.

As for DS vs Vita.... Sony had plenty of really good exclusive games, and I think the vita was the better device (I sti...

There is no reason MS could not have done as good and as many games, but they focused on entertainment and not gaming.

I am not arguing that Sony had a ton of good games this generation. What I am saying is that is standard for Sony and MS and Nintendo did not match them (incompetently) with Wii U and XBO. They all knew Sony would delivery great story driven games. They gambled that consoles were more about the total entertainment experience. And they were simply wrong....

@Muzikguy
Again, you could flip that around for "Power your Dreams".

Really what it is is saying is if you can dream the game it can be built.

LOL on greatness awaits. I never got that from the marketing. It makes sense but I've had a PS4 since a few months after launch and thought Greatness Awaits was completely dumb.

I think this site needs a setting to be able to weed out next gen articles.

PS4's win is more about competition incompetence this generation and PS just keeping on the good same path.

PS4 was not exceptional, they just kept delivering mostly the same experience with new really good games.

XB was too confusing and the games didn't live to expectations.

Nintendo Wii U was a flop and they ended up resetting for Switch.

You can say the same about PS's "Greatness Awaits" slogan.... Really?

Sounds cheesy.... So, it isn't great now? We're constantly waiting for greatness.... Is it ever going to come?

Playstation with its naming is really boring... PS5. Wow! Whoever thought that one up should be fired as well.

Who says there is going to be mid-gen upgrades anymore? They may just have tiers... Pro, Regular, and low end.... An...

Agreed. Naughty Dog is simply the best Development Studio on the planet and has been since Uncharted 1.

This just makes me laugh. Gamers are just like politicians instead of republicans and democrats there are xb fanboys and sony fanboys.

And it just gets completely ridiculous. MS shows a video of a console with no specs or nothing and fanboys go crazy, sony shows their logo for their next console and fans go crazy.

Of all the stuff so far I have seen three things that mean something to me... The Halo Infinite, Godfall, and Hellblade II trailers. Eve...

Focus not laziness....

Nintendo focuses on their games and hardware. Not a user's gaming profile.

The issue with offline trophies/achievements is cheating.

People were getting near impossible trophies/achievements offline illegitimately.

Actually, I have GamePass and haven't had enough time to get into Sea of Thieves yet...

There are plenty-o-games that are worth playing on GamePass.... Rage 2, DMC5, Prey, Forza Horizon 4, Metros, Gears, Halos, Outer Worlds, Dirt 2.0, etc.

I think the continued growth of Sea of Thieves is more about new players coming onto GamePass then it is a drought thing. Gamers joining GamePass and did not buy Sea of Thieves earlier.

Your statements are not entirely supported by facts. I will agree the on the high end, Sony had more exclusives that scored higher on Metacritic. But, there were also exclusives that didn't do nearly as good on metacritic. Days Gone, Knack 1/2, DriveClub, Gran Turismo Sport, Killzone Shadowfall, and The Order 1886 just to name some less then stellar Sony Exclusives. So, they didn't lack failure this gen, they just had more on the high end. You can argue that some of these games d...

I think that is not true. Microsoft definitely has taken very positive steps here and the studios acquired were very good pickups. Probably fairly low cost and the studios just needed first party investments.

But, there are a lot of really strong studios in both Sony and Nintendo stables that consistently have delivered 90+ rated games. These new studios have to prove that with first party dollars they can do the same.

2376d ago 3 agree1 disagreeView comment

All of the studios acquired that were not associated with MS first party games before were highly independent studios funding games on their own. The only independent studio I know of that has made more progress then any of these studios in the past and present is CD Projekt Red.

So where was the PS Now numbers?

Oh right... Just like every other company they cherry-pick numbers that make them look good and ignore numbers that don't.
