Is there a way I can filter out opinion articles on this site?
Frankly I am getting extremely tired of next generation opinion articles.
Microsoft did not help itself last gen.
RRoD and the over-focus on Kinect over core gamer games.
True. Loyalty is earned, but companies are never anyone's friend.
And I do believe that Sony has shipped the best games this generation by far. But, that doesn't give them a right to just take my money going forward. It is an input into my future game/console choices.
Actually I want to see it re-mastered fully for this next generation. Imagine what they can do with the graphics now that these next consoles will do 4K in their sleep.
There is no basis of fact for a good 40% of those games. Especially the exclusives. There is no reason for either MS or Sony to put that many exclusive titles out on so many established franchises on day one. These kinds of rumors happen every generation and every generation the typical is 2 really worthwhile launch games. The rest are new IPs and typically are not big sellers.
Really, at this point I am just getting tired of the next gen articles.

At the other end of the scale we don't know how Rare is defining active users. So, in reality these could all be legitimate. You are simply assuming it is only who has ever logged in.

I think a game's measure of success is multiple indicators.
Active player count over a period of time, number of people "acquiring" the game (Subscription and sales), number of people completing single player mode to the end of the story, and the game reviews by the press and gamers playing are all required to indicate a game's size.

Maybe the show is fine and maybe Sony should start showing up. They show to GDC, the Tokyo game show, and many other major events. And every other major publisher and console vendor (including Nintendo) shows up.
I don't think there is a single good reason for them not to show up at E3 other then they are trying to kill North Americas biggest game trade show event.

As a person who is "out and about" a lot I like to have streaming for when I am not at my home. I travel a lot in hotels, my country property, and in the city. Streaming to me is just an add-on to my gaming experience and allows me to play in more places without lugging my "portable" console setup.
I am also looking this next gen to save some money by not buying some consoles and reducing the ones I do buy.
There is nothing wrong with that. Gamers should be able to play on as many devices as possible, and even the smallest devices are getting good at playing complex games through streaming.
Steam is going to have to change otherwise it will become irrelevant in a few years. Vendors that don't allow me to play on many devices is going to be a major "must have" for me going forward.

I went into my PC app and streaming works with it as well.

This is about giving gamers information so they can make a decision on which console or consoles suit their needs and wants as gamers.

As of this next generation we will have had four generations with the same console vendors.
The only losers are the gamers that waste their time participating in the so-called console wars rather then playing games.
No CEO or manager is going to willingly change a game engine or redo stuff mid-development. If anything they drive to use the junk that was created and fight against the move because it is costly. I am in business software development and there is tons of pressure to develop as cheaply as possible. changing anything mid-development is a cost nightmare.
