Its ridiculous to keep comparing the two services.
Sony won't have any Halo or Gears games, and MS won't have God of War, Bloodborne, Uncharted, etc.
All three companies innovate.
They have all added to console gaming.
Both Sony and Microsoft are large corporations.
In the end corporations will do what is best for the corporation and try to get away with as much as possible. Whether it is closing studios, monetizing games more, etc.
Any gamer that aligns them self saying one corporation is good while others are bad knows nothing about business. Businesses are trying to make more and more money to drive their stock price. And at the same time they gauge their customer...
Forza Motorsports 6 is a simulation not a Arcade Racer. Forza Horizon are the Forza arcade racers.
You have to remember that MS has less than half the install base that Sony does. Sales are relative to how many people you can sell to.
As for Recore, Quantum Break, Sunset Overdrive, and Ryse.... I think the ratings of the games are fine. I had fun with all the games, but I feel that they all had significant flaws when compared to similar games in their genres that did better.
LOL. Microsoft will not go from next to no sales in Asian to tons because of xCloud.
The biggest thing MS has to do to get Asian sales is make good games for the Asian market by Asian developers. When they released Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey on 360 they had sales jumps in Asia. They need to do that a lot to boost their Asian presence.
I am not sure how you can say that. The article says that it really hasn't been shown yet.
While I like that John M. is excited about this, Peter Molyeux got excited about a lot of things that ended up fizzling. Until it is actually seen and experienced this is a marketing gimmick.
Wow, we have never seen an article like this before.
Oh wait I saw three of them in the past week. They were "XB has a secret weapon in GamePass" or "PSNow needs to be as good as GamePass".
Yet another brand fanboy article. Sony is doing fine. If they do not do a thing except release games on PS5 they will sell at least 100 million consoles.
These articles are nothing about gaming and everything about trying to get people to buy one console or another. I have a new idea. Why don't people just buy the console they prefer and be gamers. Not salespeople for one brand or another.
I wish i could weed out these articles, but it seems like N4G supports this behavior. It wouldn't be that hard to make a setting where I could weed out opinion articles. I come here because I want to see gaming articles. Gami...
Seriously, all these next gen FUD articles need to stop.
First, Sony has not announced any day one first exclusives yet. I assume they will.
Second, Sony might do the same thing MS is doing. Again, no announcements made yet.
Third, there is nothing wrong with this. It may not drive initial console sales but, 90% of the time the consoles are sold out when they first ship. Also, the first year, games really don't take advantage of the new hardware anyhow. All, the devts do is use the current devkits on t...
Everyone knows Vince made CoD Modern Warfare with Infinity Ward. Then, he left because Activision was not good to them. He started Respawn independently so he is well aware what a big publisher can do to a strong developer. I am sure the contracts have been written so that Respawn as a lot of creative freedom. I doubt Vince would make the same mistake twice.
Yes, it is an option, not people's primary option but it is an option which makes it attractive for when your console is not available to game on.
Microsoft already has the "Free" console with GamePass and Gold so it is not made up.

I don't consider it free. You are paying I think $5 or $10 per month toward the console. And it already has the option to update to XSX when available.
I do not agree that PSNow is garbage. It definitely is not as good as GamePass, but I use it to play PS games on my PC when I don't want to play on my PS4 Pro. I have been playing God of War and Uncharted games again on PSNow and it is fine.
True their games are more stale, but that doesn't mean the service is garbage.
I think it depends on the agreement with the publisher/developer.
Some games are probably licensed to the service for a certain period of time at a certain fixed dollar amount. Thus an expiry.
Others may be licensed based on how many times they are downloaded or hours played so their expiry date does not matter.
Simply....
Widens the field of view. To me any new features are good features. (As long as they don't encourage monetization)
I understand gamers hatred of EA. It is well-deserved. But, we have to assess games one at a time as they come out rather then just assuming that because it is EA it is bad and they are only going to rip people off.
Many of the gaming companies have gone through stints where they were not customer friendly. EA wasn't the first and they won't be the last. For me, I have no loyalty. I look at each game on its merits and decide. Doesn't matter who makes it, i...
I wouldn't say Microsoft dwarfs google. MS seems to have 55 data centers worldwide and Google about 22 (Did quick counts on their web sites).
Double in those numbers is not dwarfing. People need to pay attention to Google. They are a big cloud player. Amazon and MS are the top dogs right now, but Google has both the capability and skills to be up there with them.
Yup that was a drop of 2.1% from the previous year... Sony dropped 12.4%....
Both look bad.
