On one hand I totally applaud Rare for making this game what it is today. They got kicked in the face on reviews, but stuck to it and kept improving the game.
On the other hand why did it not ship as a complete game on day one?
The re-review is nice, but there is a certain amount of me that says, "Why encourage the behavior?"
Yup. In Naughty Dog we trust!
On a more serious side though I would actually like to see a tech demo that shows what specifically the PS5 can do with this SSD I/O that you can't do with normal SSD I/O? And a demo of how it compares with the existing generation.
I saw a nice tech demo of the XB SSD fast game switching and it was pretty cool. Would like to see the same from Sony. We know it will be good, but so far the developers have been vague on ...
He doesn't have to... About 40% of Americans will vote for him no matter what he does. His base is holding strong to whatever he says or does.
Yup, and meantime Trump says games are evil and causing mass shootings.
So the question I have is what is SSD's speed on PS5 going to allow them to do that XSX won't be able to do or come close to? People keep harping this is a game changer. How is it going to be a game changer?
With the XSX we've seen the trailer for Hellblade 2, some Halo footage, and tech demos of the ray tracing. Where's the tech demos showcasing the SSD advantage PS5 will have?
It is the only place where the PS5 shines above XSX of course hardcore fans are going to think that is the key to all the world's game making problems.
First, we have no clue what is going to be more important in the generation. Direct performance or I/O performance.
Second, it is not only a 2 TF advantage. The CPU and GPU are variable speed. which means that most of the time they won't be performing at the max levels.
You failed to mention the XSX GPU and CPU are both running 10% faster then the PS5.
Also, that the XSX has 10GB memory that is 20% faster then PS5. And 6 GB that is 25% slower then PS5.
Also using USB 3.2 yield 20 Gbps. We don't know what version of USB PS5 has yet.
Finally, your price is not a fact. it is pure speculation. It is hard to believe that with the I/O speeds of the PS5 that it will be cheaper then XSX.
The fact is that consoles are built with tech that is already outdated. At best a console is an above average Gaming PC the day they come out. Then, PCs keep getting stronger and faster and the consoles become outdated. This has been going on for decades. No reason to think that will change now.
LOL. Or they could just offer it up through Backwards Compatibility.
I would go farther and just say,
"I doubt PS5 buyers will reget that decision".
For the first generation in my console buying career I am looking at only getting one console. And either relying on xCloud or PS Now to play exclusives from the one I don't buy.
And how does giving consumers different price points show they have no real confidence that people will buy their console?
To me, that gives consumers options. And there is a mix of HD, 4K, and starting to be 8K TVs now. If you only have a HD TV why should you go and buy a 4K or 8K capable console? That is called right-sizing to the equipment you have. Lots of people will continue with regular HD through this gen. It doesn't even make sense buying a 4K TV below 42&...
Where to start on the lack of facts you have in you post. I can understand you are living under the rock that is called PS, but please try to quit emulating Trump and get some facts into your post.
PS5 is just as much a PC as XSX. The structure of the device is exactly the same... The devices just deliver the hardware and channels at different speeds. Both will have advantages and disadvantages. You could say the XSX is built from the ground up with gaming in front and...
@The_Sage
Yup, but the reality is we don't know what that will mean as far as games are concerned.
Just like the dumb idiots that think that because the other XSX specs are better then PS5 it is going to make some sort of amazing difference.
True.
Actually if you go back thru history the most powerful console rarely wins the generation.
I don't get how you can say either of those things with absolutely no facts to back it up.
We will find out how well both systems actually perform closer to launch and really there has not been a lot of game announcements yet.
No, the I/O for the SSD is twice the speed.
Maybe you should read the post. It expounds the benefits of SSD.
Both the XSX and PS5 have SSD drives.
@Christopher
So, why then are they calling the speeds variable if they aren't really variable?
