So you don't have any backlog of games that you may want to play or trophies you might want to go back in on some games and get?
Have you not seen the 15 (maybe 16) first party studios MS now has? And these studios aren't just a bunch of crap developers.... They've made games like Hellblade, Fallout New Vegas, Outer Worlds, Pillars of Eternity, Wasteland, Psychonauts, Forza Horizon, etc. There are a a lot of good pedigree in these studios that were largely independent and did not ever have first party dollars for development.
I can't wait to see what they can do with first party doll...
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I really like HDR (Samsung TVs).
I don't know who MS has hired for marketing on XSX but it is pretty interesting how they are out in front of everything and are controlling the narrative for the next consoles.
And this tweet is just funny.
I don't like marketing but MS is doing a really good job at it for the next consoles.
I actually like that feature. I have a remote property and when I go there I try to limit power usage so using batteries is a good thing there.
Also, if the controller re-chargable battery dies you can just swap it with the real batteries unlike other controllers that would have to be plugged in making the fact they are wireless pretty much useless.
For me, it is about what vendor looks like it has the better plan for the entire generation.
Total cost of ownership (Price of hardware, subscriptions, and games), Games, Features, Security, Backwards Compatibility, etc.
Both Sony and MS are going to present their full case then I will assess accordingly.
I agree. When two cars have close to the same specs it becomes more about the drivers.
In video games this is going to be all about the quality of the games. Not which device is more powerful. Some developers have put out amazing games on outdated hardware.
Wii was successful because of its motion controls. Not price.
Stupid WiiSports had the world goo'ing like babies.
Once the motion controls wore off, the console quickly fell into oblivion and both 360 and PS3 continued to sell well.
Nice. Glad to see they are not sitting on success here and continuing to make sure people are satisfied with this subscription service.
I have a feeling that as the gen progresses the games will become bigger and more complex slowing load times even on these new consoles.
I support the use of NVMe drives in consoles for sure.
But...
You should be able to plug any NVMe drive into your console and as long as it passes a performance test it should be allowed to be used.
AND
NVMe drives need to be much larger capacities then they are today.
LOL. It is true but buying any hard drive is more plastic crap.
With that said this may delay my adoption of the next generation. Currently I have 3 x 10 TB drives on my X1X. Storing over 2,000 games. If I am forced to move stuff around in order to play I will not be impressed. I spend a ton of time managing drives already, I don't want to spend more.
And a 1 TB internal drive is BS. 10 triple AAA games on it and it will be full given that games...
The issue here is that if the new generation is relying on SSD for performance improvements it makes it difficult to allow you to just put any hard drive on the device. Essentially, the hard drive would have to meet or exceed the performance spec of the system.
For me:
1) Cyberpunk 2077
2) TLOU2
3) Final Fantasy VII
4) Halo Infinite
5) Forza Motorsports 8 (Unannounced but hinted at in their XSX trailer)
Honorable mentions:
- Ghosts of Tsushima
- Minecraft Dungeons (For some reason this looks like fun to me)
- Wasteland 3
- RE3
- Streets of Rage 4
It will be interesting this next gen to see company strategies on remastering/remaking vs updating.
This gen remastering/remaking became quite the trend but very few of the games were actual remasters/remakes to me.... A true remaster/remake should upgrade the graphics, sound, gameplay, and game engines to modern bars set by new games. To me Resident Evil 2 and Final Fantasy VII are the best examples of this.
This really depends on screen size. HD is fine up to 60 inches, but 4K is a must above 60 inches.
So what? My post showed all three games are great. I wasn't trying to make Ori look any better then the others. Just stating the Metacritic scores.
The difference between open critic and metacritic is that open critic uses a simple mean formula whereas metacritic weights score of various publications based on their perceived reputation. Good and bad to both. Not really sure I get where you are going with your post. If you are trying to make one game better then th...
So you have a problem with an executive engaged with the gaming community directly?
The problem to me, is when executives are not engaged with the gaming community.
What do you prefer? The CEO that you never see or the CEO you see often that is engaged with their company?
@RosweeSon
I know 360 did not agree to cross play in the 360 days. And that was wrong as far as I was always concerned.
Ya, I would agree with you but I have a 3 HDMI ports in my TV. The first one is XBO X, second my TV provider, 3rd is hooked up to a 5 HDMI port add-on... Port 1 = PS4 Pro, Port 2 = Nintendo Switch, Port 3 = Xbox 360 (Still trying to finish some non-BC games), Port 4 = PS3, Port 5 = Nintendo Wii U... Not to mention the shelving space taken up by all those consoles.
Which port am I going to plug a XSX or PS5 into? BC reduces the number of ports I require. The better the B...
