The issue isn't sprites vs. 3d though. It's a development time issue.
They are trying to develop HD, 3D games, in the same time span as they did sprited games.
And you can't do that. Even Mario and Zelda's mainline entries have adjusted, and now take 5+ years a piece.
"Anime Styled" is apparently means "base rpgmaker assets" now.
It's possible, but unlikely imo.
The only example of a "same console" Zelda outselling the first one on it, is Twilight Princess compared to WW.
And that's kind of a special situation, brought about by people really not liking aspects of the first game, and the second game being built to correct them.
I don't feel like TOTK is going to be AS stark a difference. It's looking to be the same experience, just polis...
So what you mean to say is,
You put in effort to learn and use a game mechanic, and it rewarded you the player for doing so?
It's hilarious seeing people go "finally a game showing the power of the PS5!!!".
The game not only doesn't look next gen, it looks notably worse than FF15 and FF7R in numerous area. Some parts legitimately look PS3 era.
They're called contacts bro.....she's using contacts to get Ashley's eye color.
Yeah okay, try doing in this in 12 that came right before it, and get back to me on how that works for you.
Yeah man.
I remember playing Mario 25 years ago. Whenever I jumped, I thought to myself "wow, this is like a game from 2023 it's so modern".
Your mom.
Good Riddance. Capcom Vancouver's entries are a big stain on what was a great, charming game series.
The ideas shown here are the pinnacle of their ineptness. Yeah, let's remove items on the ground, a core mechanic to the franchise, and one that people would show they still love in BOTW 2 years later.
I love Symphonia, but it's a game that needed a remake, not a remaster.
And it's especially annoying knowing they have a well received, modern engine in the form of Tales of Arise, they could have used to do it.
Except that the Remake DIDN'T feel like a complete adventure.
There was ZERO change to the characters from start to finish. There was no resolution to the plot. The game was still introducing elements of both right up until the end. Who is Hojo or RedXIII? F*** if we know, wait half a decade to find out.
Also, yes, it IS cut content, when the content that was in 1 release, is now spread across 3 more expensive, full price games. It's irrelevant th...
It's a huge number relative to the point in history it was made in.
It was landlocked to 1 system for much of its life, while many modern games are on any number of platforms and marketplaces.
Plus, I have to think the overall human population counts for something. There's 2 billion more people now than there was in 1997.
1. It definitely doesn't take THAT long. First battle happens within the first half hour.
2. Bigger set-up = bigger payoff.
Harvest Moon: Magical Melody on the GCN did.
In fact it actually built the game around it.
Yeah. They should have brought back Lance Bass as Sephiroth. Cloud should have been done by Timberlake. Huge mistep for Square Enix.
Yet you're here commenting on an article about them. So evidently you could care less.
So you don't realize the irony of that being exactly what you're doing?
You're calling this a "broken mess", which clearly shows the only exposure to it you've had is scrolling through twitter seeing the bugs, and thinking that's all the game offers.
When in reality, it offers maybe the best gameplay loop Pokemon has ever had. Along with various bits of the best story it's had, best designs its had, etc.
Square casted Hastega on their dev teams.
As opposed to the incredibly mature, gritty look of the original Diamond and Pearl right?
