This is an extreme prediction, but I'm going to throw out the idea of -
Remake - Up to leaving Midgar
Rebirth - Rest of FF7 (I.e. defeating Sephiroth/Stopping Meteor)
Re??? - Playable version of Advent Children.
Because otherwise it make no sense to split up the "open world" part of FF7 into two games. Especially after Part 1 created the chapter system, and was incredibly linear.
My dude really WANTS the GTA Definitive Edition treatment.
"gamefreak just isnt used to making 3d games"
They've currently made more 3d games than they have 2d.
Also if you consider Diamond and Pearl as their first 3d game(which...well it was), That was 17 years ago.
"Whether you like it or not, for a fighting game community to thrive you can't rely on your hardcore players alone."
Uh, this is kind of exactly how they've thrived for decades lmao.
The high skill barrier is exactly what is appealing about it to prospective new players. No "casual" game players are going to become fighting game fans regardless. And tons of recent, failed attempts at capturing them has proven this.
There was nothing "hybrid" about FF7R.
It was a linear game, through and through. Down to chaptering the sections because there was so little freedom.
I think "Open World" and "World Map" are quite different in gameplay.
World Maps are usually small areas that you progressively gain more and more access to throughout the game(via Boats, Airships, etc.)
While Open Worlds usually you can explore 100% of them from the get go, and games attemps to gate progress are usually pretty contrived.(i.e. Grand Theft Auto just blocking off cities)
1. CAN run, and running near perfectly, are not the same thing.
2. The Steam Deck costs more than the Switch. I would hope it's stronger.
Yes it is. "30" is a number, literally a unit of measurement.
I wouldn't say "any". Most Nintendo legacy franchises are not Mario and Zelda.
Metroid Dread for instance sold 3 million. Which is actually big for that series, but a drop in the bucket comparatively. A new Star Fox, Kid Icarus, or F-Zero would likely sell even less.
Even in the "worst" case scenario where this is true,
They're consistently making traditional top down zeldas like Link Between Worlds, Links Awakening DX, Tri Force Heroes, etc.
Even IF they have a good team doing it, they should have remade 1 or 2 first.
The fact they are jumping straight to the most "acclaimed" one in 3, reeks of desperation to try and get fans back on their good side.
Is this sarcasm?
For starters, FFX isn't ATB. It's just pure turn based.
Secondly, FFX is literally praised for how quick its battle system is. Tweaks like battle animations playing while you select your next moves, make it play like a dream.
AI is an emerging technology. Very few if anyone, could be called an "expert" at it.
Even putting aside your salty bias, this is STILL a stupid a comment.
DLC could make a lot of games the perfect game. it's relative to how good the base game was, and what its issue are.
In this case, being DLC to a game heavily criticized for lack of variety, is a pretty good plus.
That would be true if Zelda was their only IP.
They could very easily use the next Mario mainline game, or Mario Kart 9, to sell new hardware.
No one cares. They aren't comparable, they're made for different kinds of play.
It's like saying you can't go back to using a microwave after making stuff in an oven.
It's niche because of the graphics that are designed to make it appealing FOR modern audiences?
Probably because 2 sold like sh*t.
It's funny, I remember being downvoted here for saying that HD2D was the draw, not Octopath itself. And that when better rpg's used the style, Octopath's blandness would become apparent.
And here we are, proving that true.
Your argument is the issue.
It's a video game. Realism/accuracy isn't inherently better.
Also, people quoting the game were being ironic. They were laughing at the games terrible characters, not laughing with them.
Why? So we can get an extra 30 hours of nothing gameplay tacked on, that drags down what was a good ending?
