More than likely someone just got their copy of Game Informer in the mail and thought they'd throw together an article to make it look like they were on top of things. I wasn't even aware that they were keeping the 4th Spidey universe a secret. Guess that's what I get for not paying attention to this game until very recently.
I'm not a fan of the non-symmetrical analog sticks. And why is it that nobody except Sony can manufacture a controller so that the D-pad is recessed into the controller? Honestly, I absolutely hate playing a game where the D-pad is used heavily and accidentally pressing a diagonal direction by mistake because my thumb is just a little off. With the official Sony controllers that never seems to be an issue. Happens all the time on my 360.
No, I fully realize that. I also realize that there are certain things I want out of a fully immersive Star Wars MMO. I want plenty of varied locales, a vast array of species wandering around densely populated cities, awesome weapons and vehicles, fun and exciting quests and a ton of areas to explore, and goddamn kick ass space combat.
I was 5 years old when Return of the Jedi came out in theaters, and I was so hooked on the movie that I conned my way into having severa...
I guess I'm the only one here who doesn't feel very impressed by this. If this is going to be like the old Rebel Assault games for the PC I think I'll pass. I want immersive twitch based space combat, not a rail shooter in space. I really hope this was just a quickly thrown together video so that we will see a more open and in-depth look at space combat later. Otherwise I will be avoiding space combat in this game.
Did they fix the driving? It was kind of all over the place and very unresponsive when I tried the beta. No real controller support, which as much as I love the keyboard and mouse for shooting, for driving a control pad is a must for me. Vehicle handling seemed to be an afterthought, and a very poorly designed afterthought at that. It was either go or stop, with no real in between. Turning was the same way. The vehicles didn't feel like vehicles, more like powered sleds on ice. Cha...
Welcome to the world of decent MMOs. Those are the ones you pay a monthly fee for.
While I am absolutely positive that Team Liddell will be victorious next Saturday when Court McGee beats the crap out of Kris McCray, I'm hoping that Chuck Liddell will have his ass handed to him by Rich Franklin tomorrow night. While it would have been nice to see Tito and Chuck go at it again, I don't think Tito would have won, and I want to watch someone make that arrogant POS Liddell eat canvas.
If they keep with tradition we'll get the reveal now and the game will release around the 17th of November the same year. EA is usually pretty good about giving their NFS developers plenty of time to get the game near completion before letting us have our first glimpse.
I just really want to point out that this guy has posted an article about something not working properly on a site were if you try to register an account in order to reply to said article you get an error saying "Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_VARIABLE in /home/explicit/public_html/src /user.php on line 28".
I think I'm going to go write an article about how crappy the website he posts on is because part of it doesn't work.
The point here is did you buy the game for your 4 year old daughter, or did you buy the game so you could play it? At 4 years old she's not old enough to completely grasp what is going on in the game. It's completely different if you weren't a gamer, and bought the game for her when she was a few years older and understood the concepts of what was going on. Lazlow is addressing the types of parents who buy their kids whatever game they want, thinking that it will keep them out ...
Actually, GTA hasn't always been multiplatform. The first GTA games were released for the PC. It wasn't until later that they were re-released on the PS1. And GTA3, Vice City, and San Andreas were all released on the PS2 before going multiplatform.
I have made the argument that GTA IV started off this generation of GTA games the same way GTA III did the last generation. The reason why I agree with everyone who claims that the 360 has severely limited this generation isn't due to the games that came out a few years ago. It's due to the games that will be coming out now and in the future. According to both Sony and Microsoft we're in the middle of this console generation's life cycle. Unfortunately there are a lot of g...
Unless they go with a better disc medium (i.e. Blu-ray) hard drive space doesn't mean shit. If it was all about HDD space they could just stop gouging prices on their hard drives and sell a 500GB drive for $80 like the rest of the world. Although it would be funny to see how many 360 owners would try to play down the install times that it would take to install a multiple DVD game onto their hard drive while the PS3 had a minimal install while keeping most files on the BD.
I hate to tell you this, but just because you've downloaded "HD rips" of movies does not make 3 of them total out at 5GBs. Actual high definition movies are more like 20-30GBs. When you download your HD rips, they aren't in true high def. They're actually closer to standard def as far as quality goes, maybe getting up to 304x720, but with horrible compression and bit rates.
As for the whining over installs, I don't really see what the problem is...
Yeah, it's so nice of Sony to make it extremely painless to upgrade the hard drive. I was more than a little pissed when I first discovered that I'd have to pay an outrageous amount for a 120GB hard drive for my 360 when I could get a 500GB HDD for the same amount for my PS3. Granted, I believe there is a way to modify the casing that the 360 HDDs come in so you can add your own, but I'm not sure they still work after the update that disabled non-licensed media. And even if the...
I love how almost nobody acknowledges the fact there has been no official announcement about a PC version from Rockstar, and practically everyone takes this video as a sign that there will not be a PC version of the game. I watched very closely, but I didn't see anything that said "For PS3 and Xbox 360 only. No PC release ever." All I saw was a video with what looked to be a superimposed image of "PC" on it. Watch the video again, and pause it when the letters show...
And how many modded Xboxs get banned every year? What do you think they're modded for? Piracy is going to happen regardless of the platform. And using MW2 as your example is kind of pointless, since Activision's lack of dedicated servers caused an outrage from PC gamers, prompting several thousand exclamations that they would pirate the game to show their dissatisfaction over Activision's treatment for their PC multiplayer (which is crap imho). Granted, I'm not saying it...
I'm pretty sure in the end it is going to be the disc space issue that decides which games are multi platform and which are exclusive (outside of first party and the rare deal/bribe/prostitution that Microsoft is able to pull off). I try really hard not to play favorites when it comes to my consoles, but I honestly don't see how Microsoft can stay competitive in this generation after making so many mistakes on storage.
Limiting the console to DVD9 was a horrible ...
Yeah, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say this article was thrown together without any real thought or research (which seems to be the case for most articles on gaming sites). Basing the size on the dimensions given by the developers is not a reliable way to compare the size of multiple game worlds. The scale of the maps used to show size is all wrong.
This is why I hate having to pay retail price for a subscription based game. Yeah, I realize they have to recoup what they spent in development, but if MMOs would just offer their software for free, or at least at a heavily discounted price, and just stuck with charging you the regular subscription fee, more people would be willing to try it and it might have a better chance of succeeding.
That is, of course, if the game isn't god awful. I tried the open beta for APB,...
