I read the review out of interest, and if you did too then you'd know there were numerous valid criticisms despite the combat being good.
It read like a 7 or 8.
I've got to be honest, at no point does that trick me into believing it's real life. It looks very much like a game. I don't know what specifically it's lacking in graphically but there's something missing.
Besides that gameplay wise it doesn't look much different to the GT games I was playing ten years ago. Polyphony needs new creative talent.
Shame to not end the year with a bang but with this self inflicted controversy. If I were Sony I'd always hold back a big title for December.
Not that I'm not happy about Mortal Shell but it's not FF7R.
I wouldn't have a lot of faith that they'd do it justice but if they could it'd have the potential to be a great and unique film.
If they could get Miyazaki on board to help make it I'd be optimistic that they'd get it right.
I've always fancied a Dark Souls film. Light on dialogue and heavy on the dark and twisted side of the series with plenty of gory action. Plenty of lore to dive into and show us some of the intriguing stuff that is only hinted at.
If I had a criticism it'd be the name of the game. Wronged would be a stronger title.
To be fair it's a small team, looking at their site it might even be one person developing it. Early build too.
Sounds good but I'm so sick of the retired men playing volleyball on a nude beach subgenre. Such a cliché.
Not looking that good to be fair.
I mean it says right in the title there that they aren't for sale.
That actually looks like it could be great. Atmospheric third person horror with combat. It's in very early development so a bit clunky but it's got potential for sure.
There are lots of games I ignore because they aren't for me and that's fine. I don't expect every game to anticipate what I'm looking for.
It's one of those games that often turn up on PS+ that I've very nearly bought on several occasions but haven't, usually because I've already got something similar on the go.
Looking forward to it.
It's a bit like films I guess. Open world games are a bit like superhero films in that they're long with broad audience appeal, quantity over quality generally speaking. Linear games are more like your narrowly focused, slower paced character pieces.
There's room for both and just because superhero films are big business it doesn't mean it's the only future of cinema.
So what is it that you think Sony are so much better at than MS, seeing as it's what you play on 99% of the time?
Clearly you believe that Sony are doing a better job and have by far the best games, correct?
"and my PS5 is my primary games console..."
You know that nobody believes that don't you.
Looks ok. Doesn't seem like originality is a priority.
It's a shocking level of quality control. Should have been easy for them given their resources and the age of the games.
My hype for GTA6 bottomed out a year or so ago but it's gone even lower now. The old Rockstar would have never let this happen.
Has the look of a quality game.
Feels like it's from that era ages ago, when everything from Prince of Persia to Jak and Daxter tried to go all edgy and dark but ended up cringy instead.
