I’m interested in trying this but at $269.99 CAD I can’t justify it. The battery life is a serious part of that. The regular dualsense already has terrible life. I’ve heard this one’s worse.
The review scores for this are ALL over the place. Some people praising the graphics, others calling them lackluster at best. Same with gameplay and story. Just all over.
From the demo I wasn’t impressed. Controls didn’t feel right and the gameplay was middling. I’ll hold up on this one till it’s in a deep sale.
I think it should be. It’s a solid concept. We just need an upgraded switch that plays games well. Use an updated oled screen that does 1080 at 60fps in handheld and have that be the baseline. I don’t know how feasible a 4k docked system is in such a small system. But 1440 I think would be doable.
And no Switch 2. That’s boring. Call it the Super Switch. Super Nintendo. Super Switch. It works.
I imagine there will be a jump every week. Most likely smaller each week, but def a bump after each episode.
I’m so glad more people will give the games a go. Just means we’ll get Part 3 a little sooner.
(I know some of y’all have strong feelings about 2. But I loved it. Even if I didn’t like aspects of it. I enjoyed the game as much as the 1st)
I can almost believe it. I went back and played Dead Space OG a few months back and that game is genuinely unnerving at times. The atmosphere and sound design is so good. Can’t wait for the remake next week.
Same
Yeah I feel the same. I liked 3 Houses well enough. But it wasn’t something I couldn’t put down. I think the last Fire Emblem I loved was Awakening. God I miss that game. I hope we get a port over to Switch at some point.
I’m actually happy they cut out the social stuff. It was a slog to get through in 3H. Once I figured out the routine I could blast through it all between chapters at a decent pace, but it still took way too long.
But I’ve been playing since the gameboy advance days. So the social stuff was an add on to me that never sat right. It just slowed down the story and combat to me.
Def gonna try the 4K@30 with RT. If it’s a solid 30 I’ll stick with that. This generation of games really pop when they’re firing at 100%.
But if the FPS dips or performance seems lacking, 60 FPS mode it is.
The games fine, it’s just the combat that is terrible. The melee feels bad. It’s just swing, swing, dodge, swing. Done. Move on and repeat. Gun plays alright, but the guns don’t feel powerful. I didn’t use them much after a while and kept swinging away.
And the scares weren’t scary or creepy. But I don’t know why exactly. The atmosphere was cool but not creepy at all. And you could see the jump scares, the many many jump scares, coming a mile away. Not a single one made me jump.
It sad when they say something from a demo will be fixed in the final version. It’s a demo, it should have all been running at 100%. That’s your first impression. Doesn’t leave me with a lot of hope.
I was thinking of getting this game, then I tried the demo. Wasn’t a fan of the combat and it didn’t look great. Now it’s relegated to my “wait for a deep sale” catagory.

Why do you sound offended people want to play games?
It released on 2 generations, at the same time as it was a cross generation release, almost 18 years ago, then a remaster in 2016. So I have to go spend well over $100, prob nearly $200 knowing what people charge for old Zelda titles, just so I can replay a VERY dated looking game? That most likely controls terribly? Or spend even more money on a PC so I can emulate it?
Do you see the logic prob...
Then don’t play them?
So you watch a movie, and in 1 year, 5 years, whatever it is, someone says they want to watch that movie again, you may not want to watch it, but other people do. Same thing.
Don’t spend your money on it. We’re not short on new games. If anything, Nintendo has been very sparse with their remakes/remasters. They port some older games to new consoles, but true remakes or remasters with real substance, those are rare for Nintendo. We’ve been asking for rem...

He’s a good character because you actually dislike him. If he hadn’t been done well, he would have just came off as a random henchmen you had to get out the way. Instead of someone you looked forward to fighting.
The best characters make you hate them, like Joffrey in Game of Thrones.
No. You just don’t understand the point I’m making. People love games. And want to replay them. I replay games all the time.
Technology gets better. Games age. Why wouldn’t you want to play an updated version, that can bring back some of the joy of when you played it for the first time.
Yeah I guess it would be a remake. Def had better graphics. But besides that there wasn’t much changed so I called it a port. I think remake is the proper classification though.
The majoras mask 3DS remake though got the camera control added so in my head that rings true as a remake.
I’d love switch remakes if Ocerina, Majora, and Twight. Ocerina/Majora don’t play well on the switch online service. And they didn’t age that well. Having camera controls and smoother frame rate with better graphics would go a long way.
How many younger people have never played them and won’t because they don’t hold up THAT well. Yes they’re playable, but even my nostalgia glasses don’t help much. The damn 3DS ports looks better than the switch online ports.
People want to replay older games in better quality with better quality of life updates. There’s nothing wrong with that. Zelda is a beloved franchise. And not everyone has a PC to emulate them with mods, or has the old hardware around to play them.
I haven’t played Wind Waker since I had a Wii U. I’d love to replay that. And I’ve never played Twilight princess. So I’d love a switch port/remake of that one.
It’s just over 6hrs in testing and that’s at the start. Give it a year. I have 3, 2 from launch and 1 from before last Christmas. My launch ones don’t last 4 hrs anymore. It’s the same better in the Edge.
My aftermarket rechargeables for my series X last around 30hrs. So yeah. 6-8 hrs is terrible.
