Unnecessary? Maybe.
Am I GLAD to jump back into a fresh coat of paint with TLOU2 controls and bigger levels, version of one of my top 5 games of all time on my PS5? Abso-f***in-lutely I am!
Besides voices being reused (thank god) it’s a full remake from the ground up. They’ve been working on it for years already. It takes almost the same amount of time to develop a full remake as a new game does. shave off 3-6 months for the majority of motion capture work. Most of that raw data will still be around I assume.
If it was a simple remaster with slightly better graphics I’d agree $70 ($90 for me) would be too much. But this is a brand new game retelling the story.
I’ve been thinking November since they announced 2022. November is always the “holiday advertisement” sweet spot for big releases. Ends the year strong and really pushes people to get a new console for Xmas.
Can’t wait for the HBO series and can’t wait for Part 3 if that becomes a thing.
I think the reason it didn’t sell “as well” (heavily debatable) is because people heard about the opening hour, and didn’t even bother playing it. I know 3 people personally who TO THIS DAY bitch and complain about it, but haven’t even played it. And I know 1 person who went in expecting to hate it for the same reason, and ended up loving it and admitting exactly what I said to him before he played it. The story doesn’t go where I would have wanted it to go, but damn it went to some amazing p...
I agree. There’s just a part of me that doesn’t want him to go. There’s ALWAYS the “one last ride” mission that pulls the hero back in haha
But totally into a brand new character and school as well. Would love to see a new side of the world and witchers.
I’d still like Geralt as the main character, because Geralt haha
BUT, if he’s not the main character, which seems likely, then I’d like a clean break. New school, new characters, new lands. I love Ciri as a character, but she’s so OP I’d rather not play as her. She’s practically a demi god by the end of Witcher 3.
They’ve unfortunately already said PlayStation turned down their Days Gone 2 pitch and they are moving onto a new IP. So unless there’s a MASSIVE fan campaign for a 2nd one, it’s not gonna happen.
I hope we get a Code Veronica. It’s the single RE game I’ve missed. So it would be completely new for me.
Yeah I’d love a retro style one in the old PS grey with maybe the old color buttons and matching triggers.
I bought it on PS5(digital). But I played it on Series S first through gamepass and MY GOD it’s not optimized properly at all. It says it runs at 1440p 60fps but it looked like 720p(at best) with ZERO anti aliasing. Like I’ve played plenty of games on gamepass on my series S and they all looked good to fine. So this was def an optimization issue. I’m sure it looks good on series x as it looks way better on my PS5.
Good game so far though. But I’ve been a big Sniper Elite fan since 3....
I downloaded this on gamepass on my series s. Wow, it looks bad. I played about 30 minutes and went and paid for it on my PS5. I know there’s a power difference, but it said it runs at 1440 at 60fps but it looks closer to 720p with fps jumping from 20 to 50 or something. Very dissapointed it wasn’t optimized properly for the series s. Plenty of other games on the S look pretty damn good at 1440p.
Obviously no issues on the PS5. Seems a solid 60fps or close to it with a jitter here or...
Just remake need for speed underground 1 & 2. My buddy actually just bought an OG Xbox with 40 games and one was NfSU2 and we threw it in wondering if it still holds up. It still feels great to play. The graphics are just dated af and the “story” is cheesy as hell.
Technical fix- “It’s a small update that fixes an issue related to disappearing NPCs.”

You don’t understand as much as you think you do. They USED to develop for the lowest end system then do what they can for better specs. It’s litteraly the other way around now. They make the biggest, best thing they can, then make sacrifices to get things running on lower spec machines. And games don’t run/look better LATER because they stop developing for lower end machines. They get better because they know the hardware/software better because they’ve been using it longer and know the ins ...
What’s wrong with the series S? It runs games at 1080 or 1440 on average but with higher frame rates and SSD fast load times.
I have a PS5 as my main console for 3rd party and exclusives. And a series S for gamepass and to play games with my friends with Xbox’s. It runs great, games look good(not great but nothing to complain about).
“It’s holding current gen games back”. No it’s not. Games aren’t made like they were 10 years ago. It’s not that hard for developers to scale g...
This game LOOKED way too good to be true. The gameplay videos looked fantastic. Several of my friends who aren’t into behind the scenes games info or look ahead at games coming out were hyped for this. I looked into the developer since I’d never heard of them, and knew this wasn’t coming out so soon.
I def hope this game ends up being good because it looks great. Hopefully it comes out and really pushed the developer to the next level.
I can still hear Kains voice. I can’t with any other character. So I have no real attachment to any of them besides the world and concept. Plus we just need more GOOD vampire games. We get maybe 1 every decade.
I’m unimpressed. Not that many games really, a majority are PS3 games and from what a bunch of tech guys are saying, even with a really good connection, the control latency is not good for anything you need to be quick with. I’d have loved a large PSP and PS1/2 collection. But there’s what, 15 or 20 games? Some huge 1st party PlayStation games aren’t even there. And most of the PS4/5 games are already part of the PS+ collection for PS5 owners.
Wont be upgrading from my Essential tie...
