Headaches and Nausea caused by FPS in games is a variation of motion sickness, which is your brain struggling to come to terms with the mixed messages concerning movement that it is getting from your eyes (I am moving around, in the case of a game) and from your cerebellum's center of balance (we are not moving). To simplify, the faster the images move, the better chance of headache or motion sickness.
So in your case 30FPS should be better than 60FPS. Or you're just ...
right there leads me to believe that it may actually be a case of "lazy developer". So you're not going to put your all into it, huh? Ok, guess i don't need to put all of my $60 into it either. Thank you MysticStrummer for bringing this to light. Sony went out of their way to make it easier for you can you're still choosing to be lazy.

I can do 1080p @ 30fps, but I don't understand why they would even bother with 720p. I don't recall them saying it was going to be in 720p. I'm certain 1080p @ 30fps is the new standard. Otherwise, there wouldn't really be any justification for purchasing a next gen system. Does anyone know what MGSV FPS were?
@Donnieboi,
Probably because you the threw out a baseless hypothetical when you mentioned Thief being in 720p. It wasn't mentioned anywh...
depend on the genre. Call of Duty was always doing 60fps on ps3 and Xbox360 but it wasn't as polygon heavy as Crysis, Killzone, Battlefield, or even Resistance. It all depends on what your trying to achieve with your game. I'm almost certain that BF4 will run at 30fps on consoles. They needed a 7990 (dual GPU)and 16gb DDR3 to run the trailer.
to take things like where you shoot the person in to account. For instance, if you shoot someone in the leg, it hampers their sprint ability. Or if someone is shot in the arm, that it effects their accuracy. I'm not saying go over the top with it but effect them to some degree. Getting rid of the effects can only be done by the medic class or medpacks.
It's around that time again for the Big 3 to start releasing their quarterly results. Microsoft should be releasing theirs this month and Sony will follow in May.
In my eyes the only thing that ever holds a consoles back at launch is games. We're kinda seeing that with the Wii U. You need a steady stream of games coming out for the console even after the initial launch date. Sony has clearly learned from their mistakes. With putting Mark Cerny at the helm, Sony has s...
It isn't unheard of for someone to have 16gb of DDR3 so you could very well be right about that. I actually don't think PS4 OS is running in a 32-bit environment.
@IGAM3R-VIII
The article does, in fact, mention Windows. It's referring to how most PC are running the 32bit version of Windows which requires around 2gb of RAM.
Pretty much the PS4 is a PC running in a Linux-type environment. It's a very light OS requiring only a fraction of...
gamers say that consoles are holding PC games back. It's kinda hard to hold PC back when games don't get released on PC until 6 months after consoles have it (Mainstream games). Anyone remember Super Street Fighter? Did Gears 2 or 3 even make it to PC? I'm mentioning xbox360 games because the architectures were similar.
they took a western approach to the ps4. Crash Bandicoot was one of my favorite titles back on the ps1. I actually didn't know that he was the guy. Now that I do, I'll be paying closer attention the KNACK.
I have the SONY Bravia 55HX929 (3D of course). I simply cannot wait to plug my ps4 up to it. Black on this thing are really inky. But I might invest in a VT50 plasma by Panasonic later down the line.
but the playing fields aren't remotely level. Let's wait until we get some ps4 footage of BF4 before we start comparing. Comparing locked in hardware to something only 5% of the PC gaming market owns is a little biased if you ask me.
but all in all, I agree with what you said. There are however a few things people should take into account. Mark Cerny said that only people who have an enormous amount of knowledge coding for ps3 would understand ps4's "low-level hardware" support. DICE is actually one of the few 3rd party developers who truly know how to manipulate the CELL. I believe that they can give us a PS4 experience similar to that of PCs, lacking only minor bells and whistles.
just to be a port over from the PC version while adding the Ice Elemental at the end. This isn't using the coding like Cell "low level GPU coding". But all in all, not bad at all. There is also too many variables that we don't know about the making of the PS4 version.
the GPU is also being underclocked at the moment. Like the psp, we can hopefully see the clockspeeds raised back to their defaults over time.
you do know that they dont just release firmware before testing them right? He never that they would. I was just asking if it was a possibility. You havent seen the final form factor of the ps4. You dont know venting loctations, cooling fans, or cabinet size. So determining the Apu overheating based on just the word " overclock" is a bit premature, dont you think?
Overclock via update? Allowing this would fall in line with a "sort of" two tier system.
the touchpad might have some display functionality because there is not other reason for mentioning the resolution on it. 720p if I'm not mistaken.
I don't believe he's pretentious. I think he's has a different point of view when it comes to mature gaming. Also your comment failed to address Cupid_Viper's statement. People were misconstruing his presentation saying that he was all about graphics. When, in fact, he said that it add to the authenticity of a character's performance.
I just can't agree with you there. While the Wii U is slightly more powerful than current gen consoles, it still more powerful. You mean to tell me that you can't get this running on a system with more memory and a better GPU, but you can run the on current gen hardware? It is honestly a slap in the face to any Wii U owner out there.
PS4 and Wii U are both running APUs. It's already been said that people have seen Battlefield 4 running on ps4. I'm just not getti...
know that any kind of co-op or multi-player is considered social gaming. Like with everything you have a choice. Do not confuse this with EA's "always on" DRM. One thing I did notice when they were talking about the DualShock4 was "speech recognition". Please Sony, tell me you're gonna do the "Google Now voice commands" thing on the PS4.
for 1080p @ 60fps. In reality most gamers don't care between 60fps or 30fps. BF3 ran at 30FPS on consoles and people still bought it in droves. Black OPs 2 ran @ 60FPS but people were still trading back in because it "WAS THE SAME AS BLACK OPS". We can all agree BF3 looks far better than BLack OPS2.
Just because a game runs @60FPS doesn't automatically make it a great buy. Actually most of our Game of the Year Games ran @30FPS.
