Ray-tracing being used in Killzone:SF. Given the fact that the was achieved with (at the most)3gb or GDDR5, I'm sure the game will only look better with the 8gb GDDR5.
Now I'm not saying the extra RAM creates better graphics. But this will allow Guerilla Games to push the GPU even further while being able to maintain that 30FPS. So while the naysayers say that Killzone:SF won't look much better than the demo last February. I'd hold out on the predictions until...
might have told the author, that Sony may potentially be holding an event prior to E3 to show off the console itself. It's actually suppose to be happening in May. So I wouldn't really consider this a real issue.
Another qualm the author expresses, is the show of more first party titles. We already know that their are countless exclusives from Sony large 1st-2nd party in the works. while I'm sure we will see games coming to the console in the near future. Sony is pro...
I wouldn't be so sure about that Bioware has already confirmed that they will be using DICE's new Frostbite3 engine for all future projects. This generation DICE and Crytek didn't get into consoles until two or three years after EPIC. Cryengine3, Frostbite3, and RED engine all look to be flexing their muscle this time around. Capcom's new engine and Luminous too.
My point is I think you're jumping the gun a little bit. While I agree that EPIC dominated th...
the article you would see that UE4 uses a technique similar to SVGOI, but not actual SVGOI like seen in the PC trailer. The only people who actually have Global Illumination in their engine is Crytek with Cryengine3. But even then even the only GI in the engine consists of the son only. The article barely mentions next gen consoles. It's more about lack of the lighting solution in UE4 period.
The Infiltrator demo did not have SVGOI in it which means ps4 and next xbox can ...
While not being Sony's ps2, managed an incredible feat the generation. Those doom and gloom articles where every from 2007-2009 with this "is this the year of the ps3?" headline. Outselling your closest competitor at a higher price point and launching a year later is definitely something to take pride in.
some of the social features are an integral part of PS4. It wouldn't make sense to have a dedicated chip to encode, if you wanted only a percentage of people to use this feature. As long as I don't require Plus to use Hulu Plus, Crunchyroll, play online, etc; I don't see this being a problem.
reflowing your console or reballing it. If you reball it, they take the GPU and CPU die off the board. They then begin to remove any and all of the old solder, replacing it with new solder. This is the best way to repair console/tablets/laptops. At the most people would charge $80-$110 for it. It also extends the lifespan of your console. This is hardly an issue.
As if it wasn't already implied, they do put the GPU or CPU die back onto the board.
the Wii U is having with games right now, I wouldn't be surprised if Bayonetta 2 actually sold on the system. I mean I plan on getting it for my Wii U, because it's so thirsty.
nextgen consoles can do Eyefinity if they have multiple HDMI ports. AMD introduced this way back in 2009 with their 5000 series cards. You essentially taking a 1080p image and having it up-scaled to match the numbers of "X" lines. Doesn't change the fact that this is still just a 1080p image. Also the only real advantage to Eyefinity was if you played simulators or mech games.
All your other point were somewhat valid, but number 4 was just completely idiotic
of people will argue with you about warhawk "online only" being a bad thing. It didn't need a single player. It was the best ps3 downloadable game ever purchased by me.
as to say that PS4 blows PC out of the water. Devs who make games on PC, make it with a certain card in mind. If the games runs on an Nvidia card and you have AMD, then hope the drivers work day one or wait for an update. I too have a gaming PC, but i just prefer my gaming be done on a dedicated machine.
OFF Topic: If you really want to move PC gaming forward, tell the devs to focus on Linux gaming instead of Windows.
that most games will come out for both PC and PS4, will arrive on ps4 first. Like PeaSFor mentioned, you're just boasting numbers at this point. There are no games out on PC requiring even half that. You have all that power in your rig and yet you're spending it trolling a PS4 article? Money well spent, I guess.
community was not really pleased with the direction they took with Killzone 3. They were trying to hard to accommodate the COD crowd with the controls. They also took away the one shot headshot that I, personally, loved. I think they should try to work themselves back to Killzone 2 while still retaining some of those key things from Killzone 3.
I was seriously disappointed with Killzone 3 hit detection.
how this will iron it's way holiday season. Wii U will definitely have some games coming this summer and into fall. I think the PS4 price point is what will be the deciding factor. Although unlike Nintendo, Sony is planning on doing a worldwide launch of PS4.
Regardless, I will be getting a Ps4 Day one. I already own a Wii U.
Battlfield 3 ran better on ps3 over xbox360, who a pc like architecture.
PC gamers are talking like actually have a GFX Titan or Radeon 7990 and 16gb of DDR3RAM in every PC out there. DICE needed this just to run BF4 @60FPS. You're sitting here championing around 2% of the PC gaming market which you're not even apart of.
So if DICE can guarantee us a locked 30FPS with Battlefield 4, i'll take that PC any day. Save me the hassle of upgrading my graphics cards, finding compatible drivers, Windows, having to wait for mods, etc.
you're exactly right. If you have a 90hz plasma or 240hz LCD (same difference) you can clearly see some effects in movies look horrible compared to viewing at 60hz. Like I mentioned before, people complaining about 60FPS usually only play COD.

what changed folks?
gamers who claim they need 60FPS typically mostly play Call of DUTY. But people need to realize that COD has some of the lowest res textures out of any shooter. So they had that room to add 60FPS because it wasn't polygon heavy and ran sub-HD. If they are guaranteeing me a LOCKED 30FPS at 1080p accompanied by amazing visual fidelity, I'm good to go.
This whole "gamers demand it" claim is either PC fanboys looking for another reason to discredit PS4. Or COD kids...
running real time ray tracing around this time last year. Given the fact that GG (Guerilla Games) is using this inside their new engines, would have us believe that ps4 is atleast on par with Kepler based chipset.
In the PC world, Devs couldn't take advantage of this because their minimum requirements wouldn't be able to take advantage of this. But now that the Ps4 can support this, you can guarantee will be seeing this in most games in the future. In other words, new...
