take a vacuum nosel to the air vents. After a good clean it should quieten down. It worked for my machine and it was runnin really loud.
I feel blessed! My PS3 is still working and its a day 1 jap import. I was begining to sound as loud as a hovercraft but I vacuumed all the dust out of it when I recently changed the hdd and its quiet again. I have never played a call of duty on it though. It most experiences VF5
I've just installed a 500gig harddrive so this isn't a problem but I still remember the days when a games console meant plug in and play! Installing was what you did on a PC. Oh well... This and Brotherhood within a week and I've still only just got Balckops and a very cheap Alan Wake to enjoy too. Excellent.
The only email I've had is one from Amazon saying it'll be with me on the 24th.
This was never great in its day. Maybe for like five seconds before you realised the game itself isn't even there. Just pretty predefined graphics where you have to input the predefined controls perfectly on cue or dirk dies. If younger gamers consider that gameplay then the gaming world is enuinely going backwards! It was actually more entertaining to watch someone else play through it.
Your a family!? Can I join? I'm a proud owner of a PS3!!!... but I also proudly own a 360 and a Wii. I can't help it because I buy games consoles to play games and not to become part of a family... can I still join?
mine died after 4 and a half years. got it repaired by MS for £80. Didn't really mind. I've enjoyed the games and felt I had more than my moneys worth and was happy to cough up for the repairs. My launch PS3 is still going but its an import so I've treated it really really well.
It aint perfect, it has its faults but hey, I really enjoy it and I'll probably buy whatever they bring out next year too.
I want to see what some of the brightest devs in gameland can do with this when it really gets going.
Actually I reckon any adult who was into games and earned a reasonable salary could quite easily own every FPS that comes out. Say on average 2 new ones a month so thats about $100 or £80 or whatever your currency is. Thats about what someone would spend on a good drinking session. Most working adults have enough disposable income. You wouldn't need as much money as activision. What gamerdude wrote wasn't that farfetched. People on N4G can be so damn pedantic trying to be clever ...
I have to say Reach is my favourite. Really fun campaign I thought. Halo 3 I felt a little let down by because it didn't reignite the love that I had for CE, even ODST i felt was more fun (short but very sweet) I never managed to complete Killzone 2, I got to the final level and found the difficulty went insane (for me anyway) and looked up the ending on youtube. It wasn't fun enough to compel me to persevere and its been on my shelf ever since. I've just finished Blackops and I t...
Like many have already said, I too think it would be good on the next xbox. Maybe as a launch title and if the graphics for next gen machines move on considerably maybe do 3 too.
In the weeks running upto Reach I played through CE to reaquaint myself with one of my favourite games ever and its aged pretty well unlike one of my other favourites Goldeneye which I almost find unplayable because of the controls. Halo still stacks up but it would be better next gen. Maybe as a launch titl...
What!, is your system your girlfriend or something? Did you cry when someone criticized it? Its a games machine, deal with it. I own both a 360 and a PS3 (in fact I gladly paid an importer an exorbitant ammount of money to get my PS3 on Jap launch) and I judge the fun I get from gaming on the experience I have with the game. Not some blind fan loyality for an inanimate box of electronics that miraculously possesses feelings that must be protected. Whilst your busy getting emotional others suc...
I think truly serious gamers are attracted to good games so will own any console that has a game worth playing on it. The Wii has quite a few.
You're exactly right. Any thing other than games and 78/100 would be good. B+/A-. As you say 5 is mediocre. This is gonna make some conspiracy theorists shout but this is why I like edge reviews! (well I have read it since 1993) To them a 7 is good, an 8 is very good, a 9 is excellent and a 10 is unmissable. Save for differing oppinions and the fact that as humans we can only be subjective when looking at games anyway, then to me that makes sense. This article is nonsense.
I own a PS3, 360 and a Wii and the games I've played most in the last year are Mass effect 2, Reach, Assasins Creed 2, Mario Galaxy 2 and RDR. I got assasins2 on ps3. Those are the games Ive played most within the last year and I've got Heavy Rain and GOW3, played them, finished them and there they sit on my shelf. You found Reach dissappointing and thats fine but the games I've listed Ive enjoyed the most and put most time into. I don't get how people can say owning just a 36...
In my case at least this news provides one shining light, It gives me more time to invest in a new Hdd and an external harddrive to do my back up on. I have barely enough space on my 60 gb to install gt5. I know itll be here eventually in any case.
Definately gonna buy but haven't preordered because I'm not sure whether to get ps3 or 360. Gonna wait for a comparison before I buy. Definately look s good. Been a fan since super castlvania 4.
I dont know about the ps being able to handle more than the saturn. If i remember rightly the playstation was just alot easier to code for where as the saturn was a mess but apparently overall it had more processing power. The evidence is in some of the later sega exclusives like VF2 and last Bronx. Even though vf2 had pseudo 3d backgrounds the characters and movement were amazing. Last Bronx was equally impressive. I didnt jump on the Saturn bandwagon till about 98 and by then there were som...
they actually tried that with the audio processor super famicom/snes and its supposed successor. It was going to be a cd and cartridge based machine called playstation. They fell out big time
