People have been saying that alot recently but look back to past gens and Nintendo made beasts. N64 in cpu terms destroyed PS1 Saturn. And while the gamecube didnt meet the xbox's standard it was more capable than the PS2. Even the SNES boasted hardware tricks that set it well apart from the Megadrive. They never hid those specs. I think after struggling against the competion for two gens Nintendo thought, sod it we'll take a risk and not go for power instead we'll offer something...

I wish theyd kept the original look. By all means shrink componants and cut costs but keep the outer shell. The original PS3 looked best.

I think old games should be left well alone and we should be more interested in new ones.

Only since the Wii. Before that Nintendo made the specs for their macines common knowledge and for good reason, they had a lot to shout about. SNES, N64 and Gamecube had freely available specs and plenty of power for their time too. Its only since the Wii to my knowledge that specs have taken a back seat.

Revealed e3 2013 and released the year after thats 2 years and I pretty much expect Sony to do the same. Two years makes sense because we haven't had some big releases yet. GTA 5 (and maybe it'll have dlc episodes after it), Last of us, God of War ascension, Ryse, New Gears, Last Guardian (please god), FFV13, Agent, probably an annual sequel to Assassins 3, Probably Forza 5 at end of 2013, Halo 4 and its episodic content, Metal Gear Rising, There'll be a modern warfare 5. Its plau...

Bloody hell I missed that one. I'll put it down to me being a skint child at the time and not being able to buy many games as the reason I let that one pass by.

Snatcher, was that for the PC engine, MSX, FM towns or some other machine we never got in europe? never played it but remember looking at it longingly in magazines back in the early nineties. Would love to get in on it. That was a time when all the best and exotic console games were imports.

I don't think there was a trailer just a henna tattoo on the MS bosses arm (cant remember his name but he now now works for EA) There was a little stretching of the truth though because for a short while MS made it sound exclusive when in fact it was 'exclusive' DLC.

It wasn't even that I think. Didn't the MS boss have GTA4 tattooed on his arm? No footage was revealed. The trailer was heavily publicised and released on Live and PSN shortly after...If I remember correctly. I agree rockstar don't need e3.

Maybe not 8 but I like the sound of Infinity. It might not even have Xbox in the title and go back to the days when machines had names like Megadrive/Genesis, Dreamcast, Gamecube, Super Famicom/Super Nintendo... I like the sound of Microsoft Infinity. They could use the infinity simble to tie it in with 8. Isn't windows 8 quite a big revision? Could it be that MS dont even call their next windows 9 but simply put a tagline on it? Make sense to keep all products inline with each other when...

I thought the sound chip was Sony designed and that Ken Kuteragi was an employee of Sony. Ken designed it for Nintendo for his employers, Sony.

Mario? No! as PirateThom has said above me its still fun. One game I have had trouble with though is Goldeneye. It wasn't the Graphics but the controls which really threw me. Ever since Halo Ive been used to twinstick first person control (which even without the hd update still holds up). That game made me dizzy and was nothing like the hours of fun I used to put into it with friends. Never got into Pokemon so cant comment on that but in general I find 2d games age alot better than 3d gam...

I love my Vita like I loved my PSP but I cant imagine it having the turnaround the 3ds had. I dont see any software on the horizon as potent as Nintendo's firstparty wares. Just my oppinion. As a gamer I love it but I think it will be in the 3ds's shadow for a while. I'll probably get much satisfaction from its software but in sales i dont think it will measure upto the DS. I know alot of people love to hate it but an exclusive COD would be a huge boon.

I think this year is going to be for PS3 it'll be the same for MS with 360. There are still big games on the Horizon. My prediction is that everything will be revealed sring early summer for both consoles with proper showings at e3 2013 with releases towards christmas. Just my thoughts.

No announcments with just a title screen ala Agent please. I wish companies would announce games maybe a year at the earliest before they are expected to be released. I know that development time can over run but how many years is it since we've heard or seen anything about agent? Would love to here something definate on the last guardian too.

They aren't in fact they're not bad. Early to mid nineties 40-60 pounds in the uk. New releases today start at around 30-35 from places like amazon plus most high profile releases get discounted quite early. They are cheaper then infltion would've allowed.I'm not sure of the specifics but Is it not the same in the US? Werent snes games 60 dollars almost 20 years ago? Also from a gamers point of view there is less need to import due to more releases being made available worldwi...

This generation is due a refresh soon so this is to be expected. At the end of the day though PS3, 360, Wii or whatever there are too many good games out there to keep up with... I have 70 plus for 360, 40 plus for PS3 and erm... 12 for my Wii but I've barely completed maybe a third of them. It aint like past generations, I genuinely believe we've never had it so good. The availability of great games has never been better! This I think is why sales figures are so important for some pe...

No disrespect to anyone in particular hear but there are some f****d up individuals around that joke about this (observed mostly outside n4g). For me, youngest in my family (1990 was when i became a fully fledged gamer). Sf2 was a watershed moment in gaming. sf4 onwards has been a highlight for us people that remember traditional competitive gaming. Many great evenings experienced together with competitive friends. get well soon.

What about Apple products? They fly off the shelves in the far east. I agree with Commonsense gamers comment about the 360s launch in japan.
