I get the impression that people who say this is a minor issue either dont have a ps3 or are blind fanboys. I can't play downloaded games that I've paid for, this isn't just a PSN issue! That is in no way minor. This needs to be fixed and fast!
I've read in some earlier posts that this is a hardware issue and may need to send console in. I hope to hell its only an update thats needed because mine is a launch jap import 60gb. If it is anthing other than an update my machine is screwed because I can't imagine sony uk offering to help. Can't play downloaded psn games etc. this is pretty bad.

I've owned both machines (and the Wii) since dayone. Day one in Japan for the PS3 and on my 360 I have over 35 games, 18 on PS3 and 12 for the Wii. People are going to shoot me down for saying this but the PS3 has not live upto the e3 hype of 2005 where they claimed it had way more power than 360. For sure it has UC2 and I'm looking forward to Yakuza 3 and GOW3 but compared to the 360 it can be a pain in the arse. I saw Jonathan Ross in a Virgin Megastore ages ago. Maybe 1992 or 93 and he was buying alot of games. I think he's supposed to be quite a big gamer. I'm reserving judgement until I see what some well paid games designers can come up with. For now this demo doesn't impress me but some of the other demos at E3 I thought were impressive.
I think MS are happy enough as long as it cant be played on a PS3. It really doesn't bother me at all. I can play all my PS3 exclusives on a PS3. I can play all the best Nintendo games on my Wii. Hell I can play loads of NEO GEO games on my Wii. I can play everything else on my 360 and I use my pc for music production and the net I'm not a fan of gaming on my PC. 7 is a good score, 8 is a really good score, 9 is an excellent score and ten is a must buy at all costs score. Below 7 its ok and then average. I take a 7 to mean look at what the games about and then decide if you want to buy it but it isn't a must-have. I think that like with the Dreamcast before Sony expected the 360 to die at the PS3 launch as the DC did when ps3 launch. I made a point earlier of saying that uncompressed audio is huge. There is no way in hell that the PS3 outputs uncompressed audio. If you had ever recorded anything you would know what you are talking about and I have a THX certified reciever and my PS3 and 360 are hooked upto it via digital optical. I have an awful feeling that this could be really serious. Its not PSN its to do with the machine. If so Sony wont replace mine because its an import. Will I be able to transfer files to a new slim PS3? If it is a Y2K like bug then millions of machines have this problem. Almost like a self destruct.
