Because Off-TV Play is selling so many Wii U's right now and GBA-GCN connectivity did wonders right? I'm looking forward to using remote play on my PS4/Vita but let's not kid ourselves. The group of people who buy the PS4 for this feature will be a very small group of people. For people who don't own either its a $600 investment without tax, games, or accessories.
When early 2014 hits you will come back down to earth along with a lot of other people. I can't wait to pick up my PS4 at launch but so many people are in for a rude awakening thinking the lust for the PS4 in the hardcore gaming community will translate to incredible demand from the general consumer in non-holiday parts of the year. Stop acting like a software drought won't happen for these new consoles. Even with InFAMOUS in February that leaves not much PS4 software to sell consoles...
Because InFamous helped to move so many PS3 units in the past right?
Can you imagine how much the PS4 going with 4GB RAM would have helped Nintendo? The Wii U had 3GB RAM in devkits and had Nintendo chosen 3GB RAM and Sony chosen 4GB RAM, along with each of their OS's taking space that would have put the Wii U MUCH closer to the PS4. If only
So you really see it being a Wii-like happening? With it releasing so late in Japan too that hurts its chances of hitting this goal too. I understand that the PS4 is a no brainer purchase for a lot of us who visit N4G but does the 90% of the rest of consumers feel the same way?
Is that you Woody? Sorry had to make a Toy Story reference.
It will sell well but you have to be completely devoid of current and past console sales knowledge to believe it will play out this way. They will likely revise this down at a later date. Even the Wii, which was sold out for almost a year, only managed about 4 million between November 2006-March 2007 and had A LOT MORE EXCLUSIVES at launch and the ensuing months (Paper Mario, Twilight Princess sorta, Wii Sports, Excite Truck, Red Steel, etc)
2-3 million tops folks. I'm so...
Of course it makes sense to dock points for sexism and bad treatment of a race/ethnicity in a game. Because gamers detest feminists so much the community acts like they're in the right here. But if the game treated another social group poorly it would be a different story. If you can take off points for films/books/music for hurting a social group then games are no exception
That's a stupid way to word their opinion. Like them or not there are plenty of $ reasons why they should continue.
To be fair, that Miiverse gaming listing from late 2012 leaked Resident Evil Revelations HD, Yarn Yoshi and others. One of the games that was listed on there was "Metal Gear Solid". Why would Nintendo have prepared a Metal Gear Solid listing for Wii U Miiverse if there wasn't something planned for it? Maybe MGS5 was planned for Wii U and canned or maybe they're waiting to announce it just like they waited to announce Black Ops 2 and Ghosts on Wii U months after they were rev...
No, it plays the actual carts.
Yea, including a flip-up UMD drive wouldn't have been very hard for Sony. I wish they had included that, I can't imagine it adds much to the cost of the system. Then again, I think the reason it isn't there is because perhaps since the Vita's hardware isn't 100% compatible with all PSP content they'd have to actually include all the PSP's internals too
I'm going to buy one eventually too. Wish they'd announce it for the US already. My mind tells me I should wait until after they patch in support for touch screen games like Uncharted. Big question: Will those patches let us play those games with a Dual Shock 3 or will Sony force us into buying a Dual Shock 4, thus raising the initial cost of this system to $210 before taxes?
I think its obvious why they'd love to be 2nd party. Nintendo has a strong history of not laying people off and avoiding firings at all costs. Platinum is made up of former Capcom/Clover people who got the axe even after releasing the critically acclaimed Okami in 2006. They want job security, and Nintendo can give them that like no one else. When was the last time Nintendo CLOSED a studio and didn't open another one for those employees, simply re-locating the offices?
Its the $129 poke-machine
They knew what they were getting into. Plus, its been 10 months since launch
I have to say, the more I look at 2DS the more I like it. Reminds me of 90s electronics and I like that. That said, I'll never get one. Can't live without a 3DS XL but i'm interested to see how this influences the design of the 3DS successor
I don't know. The Nyko one I got for my 3DS has lasted over a year so I guess I'll find out when that one breaks, not to mention the Nyko batteries for my 360 controllers that have worked for a long time.
It's $10.97 at GameStop stores and $25 everywhere else. Check it out
Two 50GB Blu-Ray discs on PS4/XB1? Two 25GB Wii U discs? Do they really need that much?
