No it hasn't sold well at all, it sold 6k per week, which is a ridiculous number, even for Japan.
The fact that so many ridiculous articles were published by MS fanboys on the subject doesn't change the truth, which is it's still a very weak number, considering the PS3 has a several million lead there.

Those are total worldwide sales, there's nothing you can spin, if 360 sold more, it would show, but it doesn't.

They don't have AAA exclusives this year, so they troll. We Sony fans don't have time for trolling with gems like MGS4, GT5P, Wipeout and LBP.
Only the 360 needs help right now, it's been outsold worldwide since 2 years, it's dead in Japan, beaten in Europe in install base, and it had no AAA exclusive in 2008, unless you consider Fable 2 as AAA (it got 89.xx on metacritic, so it's not AAA until proven otherwise).
2009 will be another PS3 year with god of war 3, heavy rain, mag, infamous, killzone 2, gran turismo 5 and all the others. Which exclusive has the 360 ? Alan Wait ? Give me a break, MS doesn't really try, they'...

And LOL @ the japan sales of 360, you shouldn't believe M$ bullcrap, it sold 1k or 2k more during a few weeks recently because of RPG, but Sony PS3 has a 4:1 advantage and a 2 million lead there, so nobody cares if 360 sells more one week, it's still dead there and below 1 million...

Who cares ? MS sold 3k consoles each week in Japan, it's exactly like you say they won in Mongolia. With LBP coming soon, Sony will sell more in one week than MS in those 6 weeks...

MSFT share lost 40 % in 1 year, while Sony lost 50 %, so I don't think anybody is dancing on anybody right now, they're both in trouble, like the rest of the real economy by the way.
On the gaming market, the most in trouble is MS since 360 has been outsold constantly by PS3 worldwide this year and last year too, to the point they had to slash the price completely or give up.

The PS3 has outsold the 360 worldwide for two years now, the gap is near zero right now, so if anything, the 360 is dying, hence MS is closing studios.
The gap will be closed by the start of 2009, consoles are sold from september to january, nobody cares who sold more in august cause those are very small numbers compared to christmas.
