Those are numbers from corporations, they don't lie. By the way, it's confirmed by the editors numbers since they all claimed they sold more on PS3, and their numbers were official numbers too (see Ubi, EA, Konami reports...). Sorry.

The problem in what you said is sales happen after september / october in console gaming. Most consoles and games are sold at christmas, so there's no reason the trend will stay the same.
Unfortunately for MS, Sony just released a few AAA exclusive games like LBP, Resistance 2 and Wipeout. I doubt it won't affect sales.
My calculation is PS3 should reach 360 worldwide install base as soon as early 2009 (with Killzone 2 release, the most beautiful FPS ever).
