@FoxGod Grand Theft Auto IV ran like a champ on the PS3 with little to no glitches and that came out years before skyrim yet it's comparable to Skyrim in scope and content.. GTA V will be even better.. There isn't a lot you can say to defend Bethesda at this point..

@Nuke So when did 8 gigs of ram become insufficient to be able to handle that kind of processing? Both the PS3 and 360 had 512 of shared Ram and both systems had games that blurred the line of what we thought was possible in games..
With all of this background processing power that the new systems are supposedly capable of why wouldn't the Ps4, for example be able to go online find weather forecasts and updates take that info and render real time weather in game?

I've actually been shocked and pleasantly surprised that I am encountering the same scenarios.. I have a lot of gamer friends and most of them are 360 only gamers.. I know of maybe 1 or 2 that are even considering the X1. I don't know how many intend to get a PS4 but I have managed to convince a few.. It bummed me out how many of my friends shunned the PS3 despite how capable it was and the first party catalogue was second to none.. But alas Sony has the lions share of the popularity ...
I've never been to a proper console release but I did get a PS2 and a PS3 a day or two after they launched.. I Know exactly when they put out electronics at my walmart at its always about the time I get off work about 3 in the morning.. Did you not consider how many of those "200 million" were multi console owners? Repeat buyers? I know of numerous people that have had more then 1 of a system.. I myself am on my 3rd ps3, not to mention the multitude of people that opted to buy new 360's due to the RROD.. If polls are so laughable and irrelevant then why do politics hinge upon and use them so aggressively? They allow companies or organizations to gauge the feelings and intent of the populace..
