Funny how Indie's mattered when Microsoft was pushing them hard on the 360 but now that Sony wears the indie crown indy games aren't significant? The hypocrisy and the lengths people go to in order to push an agenda is getting awful.. Sony is putting all of their prowess behind these indie studios some of whom will be making AAA full budget games in a few years time.. Don't forget that most large studios started small..
@jackanderson
Lets do some number crunching shall we?
PS3 60 gig= $600
to get the 360 at the same feature level the PS3 was at you would need.
MS proprietary hard drive= $99
Wifi adaptor= $100
Hd-dvd drive= $199
sd memory card reader= $50
play and charge kit= $20
Usb expansion port= $29
So on top of the $400 price tag of the 360 you would have to spend an additional $40...
Batman: Black gate doesn't count? Killzone: Mercenary? Hmm you have very high standards then...
@Strife seriously Microsoft has been making tongue in cheek comments for years now and never once have I seen the backlash over their distasteful comments as Sony is receiving over their comment despite how legitimate it really is.. Secondly when the 360 was the Indie destination for a good part of the previous gen it was awesome but now that Sony has claimed that crown it's sad? All of you anti Sony clowns are getting annoying.. Nothing Sony ever does is deserving of credit.. You all ar...
Sony has 3 platforms to support a still thriving PS3, the Vita trying to gain traction, and the brand new PS4 trying to be successful while not stealing limelight from the other two platforms.. Microsoft has mentioned NOTHING in terms of exclusives for the 360.. They've all but abandoned the 360 crowd.. So from my perspective Sony is doing a masterful job of promoting 3 platforms!! Microsoft has all of their first party studios working on One titles yet they only have 2-3 Launch day exclu...
I'm having a blast with my second play through because I know what to expect and I'm better prepared..
There's not as much tension and excitement this time around but I'm having a lot of fun. I think I'm going to go for a plat in this game.
I'm awful at the multiplayer so I haven't been playing it much.
I loved both games but the Last of Us was one of those games that will resonate with me for a very very long time.. On my first play through I was constantly tense and terrified, I was scared for the characters, and I secretly prayed for a happy conclusion although I knew it wasn't likely..
I don't know how long it will take for another game to come along that affects me the way the Last of Us has.
"cause everyone prefers xbox for multiplatform games"
Uh ah do wah? Stop speaking for "everyone" I haven't bought a SINGLE multiplat for my 360.. I buy most of my games on my PS3. By the way super genius the PS3 still outsells the 360 worldwide.
It's obvious that some are only concerned with derailing the PS4's momentum. Sony has proven for 3 generations now that they're is very little risk to investing in a new Sony console and that's not going to change with this new generation.
Rough week for Sony? If that's what you have to tell yourself to sleep at night then so be it..
Ehh I wouldn't say that.. The indie environment is still better with Sony.. I can link you to proof if you want..

Its all well and good they are doing this but it costs more then just paying for the system.. There is publishing fees associated with it and they wont advertise on your behalf..
Sony has allowed self publishing on the PS3 for 5 years now and according to this article...

They even lend out dev kits at no cost for ...
@Jokes
"indies don't get free dev kits and tools today, self publishing or not, why would they or us get them free now?"
False. Sony actually lends out dev kits to indie developers at no cost for a year.. So most indies can take their time developing on the pc, borrow a dev kit from Sony, and publish said game right on PSN.. Sony even offers free help, they run promotions and advertising for indie games as well..

Sony knows that most of the people that are getting PS4's in the first 6 months will be the core audience. Most of whom probably have a ps3. Once the Gaikai service launches(I predict it will be included with the plus sub) and they figure out how to get the entire playstation catalog streaming through gaikai then plus will appeal to the non core or those coming over from xbox..
Gamefly Cost over $100 a year and you can't receive another game until you send the current ones back.. PS+ doesn't restrict how many games you can have at a time, you keep them as long as you have your sub, you get a slew of other features like cloud saving, automatic updates, and deep discounts on NEW releases.. Your comparison is invalid..
How many times are you planning on going back and playing it once you beat it? Exactly after a while it will just take up space on your hard drive.. Plus has a constant stream of new games so there's never a shortage of games to play... I don't know how many games I've deleted that I got from plus.. I just can't play that many games.. Besides as long as I have my sub I can redownload any game at any time.. Period.
Nuke seriously dude your comments get worse by the day.. How on earth does your comment make any sense to you? Free games encourages people to play more games exposing more fans to different genres, games, and studios...
How many of these xbox mouthpieces that are bashing PS+ claiming your are just renting your games trade their games in at Gamestop or best buy or mom an pop shops?? Whats the point of buying something full price if you are just going to trade it off later? With the price of plus you get 12 months of access to recent high quality games.. You can play as much or as little of those games as you want with no worries of getting your money's worth.. I have a slew of games I haven't even tou...
@Death If you took the time to investigate the report a little deeper you would have seen that most of that loss was attributed to the combination of the almost 19% reduction in LCD sales and the prices dropping in addition to the flooding in Thailand that hurt them. There was also mention of the price reduction of the PS3, consolidation of their fragmented divisions, and Sony officially stopping support of the PS2 that impacted those numbers as well.. Has absolutely nothing to do with how m...
Ps4 has the more graphics centric GDDR5 and a unified memory structure to compensate for the inherent latency issues of GDDR5.. So basically the Ps4 has all of the advantages of GDDR5(which surpass DDR3) and none of the weaknesses..
If everyone recalls the only advantage the 360 had this previous gen was unified memory which spelled easier coding and the result was slightly better MultiPlats in a lot of cases.. I think Sony has this generation nailed...
