It remains to be seen whether this was actually a good decision. Seeing as there is a larger majority of the 360 audience that do not have a Kinect it's safe to say they don't want it..

Will these people be willing to pay the extra $100 to have Kinect 2 or will they jump ship? I am personally not getting a One at launch..

I might do like I did with the 360 and wait for a while to see how everything shakes out...

@WB In the realm of racing 8 seconds is A LOT. Just look at Nascar when a driver has a 1-2 second lead it translates to a large gap.. Hence with consoles a 3 gig difference in RAM can make a huge difference. Lets say two cars are traveling in a straight line for 1 hour at top speed. Car A has a 1mph higher top speed then B. At the end of that time there will be a 1 mile gap between the two cars. Now lets say those cars travel for 10 hours. Now the gap jumps to 10 miles. This same example can ...

I don't agree with it. They are forcing a feature on us that most of us don't want. But From a business standpoint Microsoft knows that unless they force it on us the market penetration will never be significant.

That Ford transit van was also heavily modified to be able to compete.. There's no question that the driver(developer) is the most important factor but that doesn't negate the importance of the car(hardware) he is given to deliver results. If there was no need for better hardware then there wouldn't be a need for new consoles every 5-6 years or so.. Period.

It's a terrible example because a pro race car driver vs an average citizen is not the same as professional game developers vs professional game developers..

In this example both the systems have comparable specs where as a van and a Ferrari are two completely different vehicles built for different purposes..

Put that same pro driver in the seat of that Ferrari and he would run laps around that van.. The van has a very limited top speed, soft suspension...

So Keregan since you seem to be the unparalleled expert on what makes a great game, why don't you enlighten us? Because my opinion reflects that of the overwhelming majority of gamers and journalists.. Uncharted 2 and 3, God of War 3, and the Last of Us are some the most highly regarded and best exclusives of this generation. In fact the Last of Us has been gaining Game of the Generation support. Sony exclusives have won game of the year honors 4 out of the last 5 years so again please in...

I'll take a Viper over any car on the face of the planet.. I don't need a bunch of creature comforts or electronic driving aids. Just pure raw American muscle..

I'm hoping that they've had enough time to upgrade all of the car models to the premium high res and high texture versions.. I would literally spend hours viewing and taking pictures of my favorite car models.. Car porn lol..

When is the last time a 360 exclusive won game of the year honors? Exactly Sony has had in the last few years Journey (which is widely recognized as a masterpiece) Uncharted 3, Uncharted 2, and it's looking as if the Last of Us and GTAV are going to be the two titles contending for that crown this year.. Sony has a much better pedigree when it comes to their first party titles so don't come on here spewing that nonsense please..

I think the MultiPlats will be like this current gen where there is little to no difference between the two but I think Sony's first party games will separate themselves as the generation progresses.

Considering that Sony is known to be deep into manufacturing and the disadvantage that launching after the 360 proved to be then all signs point to yes.. But only Sony knows what they are planning and we will just have to wait and see what happens..

Sony definitely has a lion's share of the momentum going into launch.. It remains to be seen how much of an impact this is going to have on overall sales.. It's going to be a brutal war between the two systems..

Ok and if Bethesda/Zenimax were to be approached by these people why is it implausible that they couldn't get the license? I understand how copyrighting works.. My point is that if they secure funding for a film I'm pretty sure that Bethesda would green light a full feature film especially if the kickstarter does well..

4608d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Im thinking they need a kickstarter to make this a full feature.. If its as good as this short was I'd gladly pay to see it.. Puts a lot of multi million dollar Hollywood features to shame...

@masterdon Who are you to say what price a product should or should not be priced at? Heck iPhones and iPads cost more then new consoles but people are perfectly content paying those prices.. So why is it such blasphemy when Sony sold the PS3 for $600 which had two brand new state of the art pieces of tech in it?? Especially when they weren't making any profit on the hardware.

4608d ago 4 agree1 disagreeView comment

@Xboxonefan SO what does that have to do with anything? Both the PS3 and 360 controllers have led lights that don't turn off and nobody seems to care about that so why is it suddenly and issue? Even if the light bar (its not always blue) eats up battery life all I have to do is plug in the included cable and charge it.. Much better then having to buy batteries or that over priced play and charge kit.. Just another example of Sony's hardware pedigree...

I read the entire article and I'm still having trouble of shaking this nagging feeling that they are on major damage control.. I sincerely do hope that this is a sign of a better relationship to come with us consumers but Microsoft's history doesn't make this seem promising.. I'm definitely glad Mattrick is gone though, his arrogant statements during and after their E3 presentation left a very sour taste in my mouth in regards to the XBONE.

I'm a true gamer, have been since the age of 4. I'm now 28. I refuse to buy an Xbox One. My reasons for not buying an Xbox One are not due to fanboyism or lack of gaming pedigree. They all point to my disdain of Microsoft as a company, their ethos, the way they handle themselves.. They are treating gaming like every other industry the have ever locked their lusting eyes on. They see gamin as a conquerable medium that they can dominate and control.. It's evident in everything they ...

@Death Microsoft stands behind their products huh?

In the early months after the console's launching, Microsoft stated that the Xbox 360's failure rate was within the consumer electronics industry's typical 3% to 5%.[18][19][20][21] Nevertheless, Microsoft has not released its official statistics on the failure rate of the various versions of the console; the company's press relations policy is to focus on the prompt resolution of any technical problems.[22] ...
