Lol@bathyj that could be a cue for so many funny replies, but you are right in what you say.

If I was a shareholder, I'd rather be in MS or Nintendo's side, but seeing as I'm a gamer, give me free online play, optional PS+ and the best selection of exclusive games available.

Oh wait, they already have. Thanks again Sony

@dcbronco - actually they do have the money, they just choose to spend it on sponsorship of The Champions League, trying to still brand associate themselves with the major events. money that would be better spent advertising the PS3, Vita and all the exclusive games they have. X box ads are always more dynamic and show off their system better.

LOL, gamers should fight, just not with each other. There are better things to fight about that could benefit us all (crap DLC policies, yearly rehashes of the same games etc)

The players feel more solid, its good that you can bump players off the ball. Older versions players seemed to run through each other.

Its not back to it's PS2 quality, but definately an improvement and i think i'll pick up a copy this year. My last was 2010's.

I'll probably get lambasted for this, but i won't be firing it up until i have worked through the MGS collection again, just to refresh my memory (too much of the twinny twin twin lol)

Well, what was your first trophy?

Tell me there isn't one just for starting the game up lol

@kma2k, more good points, you're on a roll +bubs

The same can be said of just being allowed to borrow games to friends without restrictions.

I borrowed Red Dead Redemption from a friend and when it appeared on the PS Store at a discount bought it and convinced a few mates to do the same, it was that good.

The high initial price point of games, in this economy certainly doesn't help matters, but as you said, the used game market has been around for a long time. Its just that its expanding quickly and eating into initial sales of games.

Rental services like Lovefilm also have a part to play. At least with the renatl service, initial copies need to be bought to rent them out to others so devs and publishers benefit.

The used game market doesn't help t...

I think Sony suffer at times from always chasing the premium market. The price of their TV's are always higher than competitors equivalent units, and the same can be said about their consoles.

But i'd rather take their products that aim sometimes way too high and don't reach their full potential, than playing it safe.

I'm buying my Vita as an all round portable media device (music and video) to replace my PSP 1000, just sorry that it does...

Well if you want the full story, then the ones who have paid for it will see it.

PS+ users are just getting a taster

Well you sir are either blind, stupid, or maybe a bit of both

Though only the first two episodes, just to entice you into forking out for the other 3

Hopefully you can get it fixed for a good price, just don't use Sony's repair service, it really is shocking

Good points kma2k, but the retailers definately benefit more than the developers, and theres no good reason why that should be. It the devs taking the risks, not the retailers.

Like i said, a healthy balance needs to be struck. If i buy Killzone 2 used from GS, both Sony and Gurilla games should see some of that back.

I do take the point that with this model, as described by brish, at least some of it is making it back to developers. Though maybe not the ...

Yeah, but is it not only the retailers who benefit from it. Maybe if they had shared the pot, we wouldn't have online passes.

I think a healthy balance needs to be struck

Last i heard the PSP had sold over 60 Million, so it wasnt as much of a failure as you are making out.

Where it failed Sony was being so easily hacked, something the DS also suffered from.

Where Sony failed the PSP was the propritry memory cards being way too expensive, lack of marketing and advertising, and as NoGunz said above, lack of selling it as a platform of choice for developers.

So they have learned in some respects, and failed...

Well have an agree from me to try and balance things out, though I know I'll just attract disagrees myself for my troubles. It's the N4G way

Very positive 3DS numbers, though it is at a sweeter price point than the Vita so to be expected

Very true fishy. Opinions are like ar**holes, everybody has one and most of them stink

@honkayjeezus - Quite possibly the most fanboyish comment I have ever read. Your first paragraph details all the shortcomings of your console of choice.

Then finish it off with "but at least they are selling more than the competition"

Absolutely classic
