Yeah, and the rest. As stated below, as devs get a better grip on the programming, they get more out of the same system as it ages.
This phenomenon isn't restricted to X-Box and PS3, every console thats ever existed has better games towards the end of their lifecycle
Oh, and i do realise its VGChartz and could be completely untrue
Probably the most interesting figures here are the COD:MW 3 sales. Higher on PS3 (if only by 50,000 units) even with the advertising it gets tied to the X Box, the timed releases of the DLC and the myth that X Box is the shooters console of choice.
Seems like more money wasted by MS that would have been better spent elsewhere if you ask me
I'd love to see father murderx respond to stephmhishot, who came back with an intelligent, and tbh, hard to argue against response to his questions.
He's got one comment left to make in this thread, and I hope he uses it to either rebutt, or concede to stephs reply.
Unless of course he's a shareholder for MS, Turn 10 or whoever's doing the new halo
Might as well throw New Zealand story in with this too, ahh the memories
All goodpoints edonis, and I have no issues with giving my money to the devs rather than the retailers, but bear in mind also that its the devs and publishers who decide on the RRP of games, and most get it wrong by pricing their games too high in the first place. They also don't help themselves when you see some of the prices for downloadable versions, higher than a physical copy that has production and distribution costs factored in.
If I have the choice of getting a ga...
How anyone can disagree with les_grossmans comment above is beyond me. Whilst there are a good few games out there that do actually merit a £40 price tag, the vast majority do not, and should be priced as such.
The rights to lend games to friends has almost been taken away from us through network passes etc, but great games flourish under these conditions. I borrowed RDR from a friend, and from that bought the game on PSN, convinced my brother to buy a copy, and thus Ro...
And quite rightly so
Yeah, but there are always good and bad ways to earn money, or rather, ethical and unethical ways of doing so.
Good argument coming from someone who should be on the consumers side of the fence, way to go sticking up for your rights
Or maybe your a shareholder with MS, pull your head out your a**
Its already been announced that it was being worked on, so it will surely show up in the run up to, or even the same time as the yearly console rehash
I think theres an element of how well COD is marketed for the Vita too as to how much it could affect sales.
No doubt it will move some systems, but theres also no denying that it would move a lot more if MS handled the marketing/advertising
I know its not first party, but they should at least partner up with Activision to ensure its marketed well
I'll second that even though its off topic, but everything you have said about MAG is true.
On topic. Its the memory cards that are holding me back from a Vita purchase. I was burned with the PSP in buying Pro Duo memory sticks and upgrading as larger ones came out.
My PSP will do for now until prices come down on the memory cards
Maybe the fact that they can sell a £40 recycled game to them thats barely improved since COD 4 AND then sell them a £30 package on top of that for extra maps throughout the year
WOW. the initial point of "the only roadblock Sony has ever known: themselves." seemed interesting enough to draw me in, but this point is sort of glanced over in an article that seems to have no focus, tried to capture everything, but failed to make good points on anything.
And by god you need to read an awful lot to get to the point that drew me in. A missed opportunity to discuss something that probably rings true with a lot of playstation fans
Godmars, i'm not really understanding your comment. Did you mean the PS3 owners have been trolling X-Box owners since day one, since its the PS 3 thats had the internet browser since launch?
Maybe its to do with the fact that theres loads up in Scotland who can't be arsed getting one job never mind the two jobs that our Ken referred to when the PS3 was launching. That must have put a few of us off :p
LOL@Pintheshadows, classic comment
I always had us Scots down as the more intelligent bunch, these statistics prove otherwise lol. The more time gaming is definately attributable to the amount of bloody rain we get compared to the Southeast
They also prove though that 94.9% of statistics are completely bloody useless.
Because they can ask Netflix and Hulu for a slice of the subscription if its signed up for through X-Box live rather than through the web browser.
MS will give you what you want, but by god they will squeeze every penny from you to get it
Its why i don't own any MS products (apart from windows which came with my PC)
@GamingPerson - Its getting worse for having a feature added, a feature that sounds like it would be well recieved by x-box owners? Is that how a trolls mind works?
Well overdue having a browser even, but well done MS finally. Not sure waving my hands to work it would draw me to using it, but if its controller optional, then it will probably run a little better than the PS 3 browser, which is long overdue a complete overhaul
Edit - Ahhhh, he editted his ...
Talk about spin.
Pick the region where you have the strongest market share, quote a few sales figures, then publish some delusional headlines for the masses to eat up.
The thing is, whilst microsoft are off blowing their own trumpet, locking down more 3rd party DLC, and selling off a £150 version of the eyetoy (rather successfully it has to be said),Sony and Nintendo are busy trying to push the bounderies for the benefit of gamers.
