They really dropped the ball with COD ever since WW2 I’d say.

Year after year it’s just disappointment after disappointment and it only got worse with Warzone and MW2019 - seasonal progression, battle pass, goofy skins, not listening to player feedback, you name it.

The timing is strange but COD has been on a nosedive for several years & then followed by the backlash of Overwatch 2.

Hope they manage to keep parity up this time.
They abandoned PS3 back in the Payday days and then abandoned PS4 with Payday 2 in favour of PC.
Third times the charm.

Yeah, agreed, it’s literally their last shot.

As much as they have Forza Motorsport, this is their BIGGEST and most hyped game as of late and after a number of failures, if this flops too then it’s game over, man. Game over.

The start of the seventh generation was dominated by Xbox BUT they did have the early launch and already established Xbox Live & eventually lost that lead to the superior (yet troubled) PS3.

That is if we are only comparing PS3 and 360 - the Wii trumped both. 😂

Yep.

They saw the rapid success of Netflix and tried to hop on that bandwagon without focusing on their exclusive titles.

There is no way that any actual gaming fan is truly satisfied paying £449.99 for a console and after 2 & a half years having a handful of mediocre titles and one or two great ones in Forza Horizon and Flight Sim (though, that only benefits you if you’re into those types of games). I refuse to believe it.

@Rau

I understand your perspective but if there is a bigger base of Sony users, there are more likely to be more articles that favour Sony and bash Microsoft.

It’s the same as the install base of PS being bigger than Xbox which when there’s a multi platform game released, it tends to sell more on PS because of said bigger install base.

I’m not only talking about users who abuse the system.

Sony may well acquire new studios but they are consistent with their output. Xbox, not so much, they’re just throwing money at the wall to see what sticks at this point.

Did you just use Minecraft Legends? 😂
A multi platform release?

Hellblade 2 is out this year? I’ll believe it when I see it.
Pentiment was 2022.

Sony will destroy any and all releases on Xbox this year with FFXVI alone.

“More studios = more games. The math is not hard.”

You might want to have a word with Papa Phil about a math lesson.

Studios: 23
Games: *crickets*

Whilst I agree to an extent, when the majority of the N4G user base are Sony fans, and you said yourself “users submit news from other gaming websites” surely you can see where they draw that conclusion from?

Obviously the toxic individuals (whilst a minority, they’re a very loud minority - same as every group) will cherry pick articles pulled from other sources.

Not entirely true though, is it?

There’s definitely a site-wide bias here, or maybe there’s just a differential split of 90/10 Sony/Xbox fans here but theres definitely articles where PS have been dragged through the mud (and rightfully so - at times).

Maybe, maybe..the reason you feel this way isn’t the blame of the website but moreso because Xbox is much more poorly managed and tends to drop the ball on a more frequent basis?

Yeah that’s how I found out it launched over here.

Hopped on Prime Video to watch something and saw a 7 day trial, you get a few games with prime but the rest are an additional subscription service.

Doesn’t advertise which games are coming to the service or the release schedule though.

Does it?

That’s news to me as the UK is currently sitting 34th out of 220 countries surveyed for average country-wide internet speeds in 2022.

“Notoriously poor” would imply this is something talked about but I have never heard any complaints relating to our speeds compared with other countries.

My current speed is 1Gbps, for example.

Fortnite & Resi 2.

Streaming won’t compete with fully installed games for a long time imo.

I was an early adopter of Stadia and that was pretty bad too. Like the fps wasn’t too inconsistent but the resolution would drop like a bomb so often.

Tried it out now that it released here in the UK.
Very laggy despite a high speed fibre connection.

I honestly don’t think they would at this point.
It’s too late in the consoles life cycle with most gamers who would buy a console for a particular series or title already established in this console generation (most likely with a PS5).

You also then have the issue of GamePass having the exclusives also launch on PC. A decent number of players will have their console of choice and a PC, thus defeating the point of buying a series console.

So very true.

Yet the Sony fanboys have the cheek to talk about “spins”. 😂

Said it before and I’ll say it again, there is so much moving of goalposts it’s unreal.

Was playing Alien: Isolation again a few weeks ago, still holds up and the AI is incredible.

F.E.A.R. was another amazing game, shame the series went downhill with 2 and then fell off entirely with F3AR.

Couldn’t get into Fatal Frame, bought the remaster on PS5 and just…couldn’t.
