Wii U has no real 3rd party support. I wish it did but it doesn't.
Sure gamers know the difference between CGI and real time but why do gamers still get excited to buy a game from CGI trailers alone.
My only real problem with this gen graphics are the horrible blocky shadows everywhere.
Well said, I would also add that change is always bad and it's also bad not to introduce changes.
I can appreciate how people are enjoying the golden years of PS3, the games coming look refined in terms of gameplay and polished graphically; however, I can't wait for the next-gen. It infuses so much excitement into the industry....and I'm a bit of a graphics whore, which is why I'm building a gaming PC.
No fears though, knowing Sony PS3 will be supported for years to come.
And that pretty much sums up motion controls this gen for PS3 and 360, laughable.
I loved Move with Killzone 3 but nothing else utilized it well and Kinect never worked as a game controller.
I can't bring myself to buy another launch Microsoft console, that was one of the most frustrating experiences I've ever had. It was just horrible refurbished console after another.
I hate when companies treat me like I'm a complete idiot, it makes me not want to support MS and just buy the game for Playstation.
1) Ubisoft
2) Sony/MS
3) Square-Enix
I am very excited for Halo 4 and look forward to IE on 360 but as a GAMES console MS hasn't had a new AAA IP since..well, Gears. MS takes all these risks inventing new services and Kinect stuff but not on quality games.
I would love to see MS's financial power being put behind some new blockbuster games, not every Sony exclusive is a amazing but at least they try.
E3 pretty much killed my interest in Wii U, I needed to see a Metroid or Zelda but Nintendo is probably saving it's best games to battle PS4 and Durango
I'm more excited about Watch Dogs, but I'm sure the graphics had something to do with it.
Definitely getting LoU though, I'm happy there are still a lot of good games coming out in what might be the last holiday season of the current-gen.
Interesting, it's rare that a long-term gamer is over-sensitive to violence. Most of the time it's the other way around. This is what makes Laura as tough as nails.
I wonder if it were a guy, would the author have the same reaction?
ND developed a wining formula with its take on the cinematic action shooter, it's only natural that others will copy (and innovate). I don't mind at all, the more SP focused, story driven games, the better imo. I was concerned that gaming might become too focused on MP with SP always being just an after thought.
The new Tomb Raider also cribbed a bit from Uncharted and added a lot of it's own flavour and looks amazing.
As long as it's not an...
It's sad when 6/7 year old consoles have more, and far more exciting (and better looking) games than it's purported next-gen console set to release in a few months.
Maybe Nintendo is doing everything right and I'm just not be the target audience...I have such fond memories of Nintendo, I want it to do well but I'm not supporting it with any of my money.
It's outdated already, the games don't even look better than PS3 and 360, and I didn't see one game I wanted (or didn't already own more or less).
It was between a Wii U and building a gaming PC, so gaming PC it is. Now I just need a bit more money.
I know but for a while they were hard to get into, that and my DLC can't re-download without freezing my PS3...the whole game just seems like a hassle to play now.
It just stopped working on my 360 so know I have to use Kotaku!? The thing should work on the MS platform at least!.
I loved BF3 but now I never play since they went to user rented servers but I'm not a huge fan of military FPS games anyways.
10 hrs is perfectly fine for me.
I find if a SP focused game is good enough, I play it over back to back and often get around 4 play throughs by the time I'm done with it. If a game is too long, I've reluctant to play it over (Skyrim) and I tend to find like the second play through more than the first.
Devscan make games longer but it can come at the cost of pacing/fun imo.
If that Square-Enix Luminous engine was actually real time it would be far better looking than Unreal 4 and Cryengine.
