Nintendo should at least reveal a screen shot of a AAA game to generate some excitement. Right now their marketing and word of mouth reputation is going down the tubes (no Mario pun intended).

Well their built with mobile chips, maybe they'll be Tablets and phones in 5 years.
I think too many people are just buying way less games because they find one franchise they love to play online MP and buy one game a year; the annual iteration of the game they bought last year.
This is entirely anecdotal, but in PS2 days my friends would buy at least 6 games a year, most more. Now most buy one (FPS or sports game) and a few buy two - their favourite FPS and Sport game and play online all year together.

I was really interested in Wii U until I saw it has 360 graphics. I wasn't expecting a massive leap in power but was expecting about 3x the power of current gen and 1 or 2 AAA Nintendo exclusives and all multiplats with better graphics which would have held me over until PS4 dropped in price. Never cared for the controller though, looked gimmicky.
Now I'll just take that Wii U money and put it towards a next-gen console.
They've just moved on to phones/tablets/Facebook/browse r games.
They more than satisfy their needs and most games are free or 99 cents. Why would a casual ever buy a console now when almost everyone already has a game machine and portable (computer, phone, tablet)
A person with a casual interest in gaming would not spend $50 on a game very often when all their friends can play together via wifi on their phones for free and have just as much fun.
I hope they release the Witcher 2 on PS4, never had to PC to run it and the 360 version looked lacking (although I might still pick it up)
I'm not paying exorbitant prices MS will likely offer for it service. Particularly so due to the likely hood that much of the added entertainment featured probably will only be available in the US or require and additional subscription to the Live one

I think gamers lose when devs are dissuaded from patching ASAP by monetary barriers.
I'd prefer that devs can patch immediately without thinking on how much it will cost them, or waiting until they discover enough bugs to make patching worthwhile.
Certainly, it would be better if games released perfect day 1 but the truth is early adopters are quasi-beta testers. Games are a lot more complicated these days, especially considering online.

Keep the old console for the odd time you feel like playing last-gen games. Your 360/PS3s are worth so little money and will be worth even less when next-gen consoles arrive

My guess it that EA sees that Nintendo Wii U isn't flying off the shelves (to put it euphemistically) and wanted to pay some degree of less royalties to which Nintendo rejected by saying we don't need your almost popular but not really game on our console that badly.

I own a 360 and am totally done with being price gouged by MS with everything but too many people (read Americans) probably still won't care about being ripped off and justify the increased price using some "additional value" flawed logic that doesn't really exist but helps them get over buyers remorse.

Just passed it again on Boss Extreme, it's always interesting because I'm trying to understand all the nuances of the story and the sneaking gameplay is the best in the genre.
Halo Reach is my second fav game of the gen IMO (bring on the disagrees:)
