Knowing MS the majority of new IPs with be Kinect games.
I prefer the look of the PS4 controller but it appears both companies have worked out this gens controller flaws.
I knew it would be all Kinect,TV and CG. Terrible reveal. Less powerful than PS4 too. I love Halo but I'm getting PS4 unless MS has some crazy graphic card their keeping quiet about.
COD was the best game of the show...
Because it was the only real gameplay shown. Xbox looks like the coolest cable box I've seen but as a games machine it looks like PS4 has my money.
Just as I feared, mostly Kinect and TV (which is kind a cool) but few games and mostly preendered and COD.
So far, PS4 has my money. Entertainment stuff is pretty cool but I play more games than watch TV so ill go with the more powerful console. Besides I know how MS prices things movies, shows and music higher than Sony already.
Cheaper game development is good for the industry.
I love how all of the next-gen Xbox games revealing tomorrow double as PS4 reveals.
Judging by its sales, a large number of gamers think the Wii U is not good enough to purchase.
It better not be full of CG trailers and BS Kinect promises. It needs actually gameplay.
PC gaming is as next-gen as a PS2 HD remake would be next-gen if released last gen.
I think PC gaming is just HD 60FPS better textured/lighting current gen, which looks awesome but isn't a generational graphical leap.
Next-gen requires next-gen engines and it's not worth it financially for devs to release them until next-gen consoles arrive.
PC gamers should rejoice when PS4/720 release, finally all there magnificent hardware can be...
I doubt it, Master Chief is a gaming icon at this point.
Killzone doesn't have any loved characters. In fact while KZ2 and 3 were some of my fav FPS games this gen, I the story suffered greatly from the lack of any strong protagonists. All the characters were bland (with the exception of Scolar Visari).
Still amazing gameplay though, but it's no halo killer.
I guess PS3 will be second place before the next-gen consoles release. Pretty impressive how they came from behind and won the core.
Sounds like I'll be turning the game music off again. Love GT but why is the music so bad.
I think there will be a lot less casual gamers buying consoles this gen as they moved onto phones/tabets/facebook games.
For core gamers, consoles and/or gaming PC will be must have, sure it will be less sales without the casuals but still 100s of millions of people love video games as their preferred form of entertainment.
I think it's safe to say that Wii Fit is a dead franchise. Maybe Nintendo would have been better making Wi U another motion controlled machine with some Kinect like addition. Wii U doesn't seem to appeal to any demographic except Nintendo diehards.
RV6 was one of the most underappreciated FPS games this gen.
It had superior cover mechanics to Gears (came out at the same time but got no press/credit for it) way more open environments than 90% of the FPSs this gen and neither you nor the enemy were bullet sponges.
Plus it required strategy and team commands which would definitely benefit the military FPS genre greatly.
Only problem was that the story was weak. But gameplay is still bette...
It's sad that the only game on that list that I'd be excited for is Halo 5.
Xbox: Went from my console of choice with the best exclusives to the console I never play and view bitterly as taking a fool's money for too many years. All in one generation.
But I will eventually have to get the Next Box at some point for Halo. Probably well after my PS4 when it drops to $200 used which will be a very long time from now.
Sounds like Sony is once again adopting their dev-centric PS1 mentality instead of the "f u devs, adapt - we boss" mentality they had with PS3.
I agree that Oculus Rift is one of the most exciting things happening in gaming right now. It would change the way we play and free up the controls somewhat.
I hope future PS4/ Infinity games use it
I'm more excited for PS4 now. The TV stuff is actually kind of cool but it's obvious MS is sacrificing consol power for Kinect and multimedia functionality.
I'm going with the console with the best looking/running multiplats and games. MS could have matched or exceeded PS4 power if they didn't include a Kinect in every box. Also, how much of that slow 8 gig RAM will be used to keep movies, TV, music, Skype, etc. running in the background all the time while r...
