MS is basically forcing you to by a Kinect.
Not many gamers want Kinect, even less want to be forced to pay for it. Classic MS puitting their casual games ambitions before the people that got Xbox where it is today. If they want to be the box does it all then fine, but foot the bill for your own ambitions and take a loss on the console instead of forwarding it to the consumer.

Looks like a tonne of fun (possibly the best online competitive shooter) but the graphics weren't mind blowing like when I first saw BF3.
I seriously hope in 3 years or mid-console life, Sony and MS adopt optional Oculus into all games...and it's affordable.
No the fight has just begun. Xbone and PS4 per-orders are neck and neck. I'm getting PS4 of course because I don't care about Kinect and always resented MSs focus in it at the expense of core gamers. Now they're charging me 100-120 bucks for it as a mandatory requirement.
Drop in price $100 dollars. Eliminate restrictions.
Xone is pretty much charging everyone $100 for a handless TV remote. I can switch between inputs already with one press of a button.
There's no way you can build a $400 dollar rig from scratch that will come close to PS4 capabilities.
It probably wouldn't even run games in 4 years.

Costs more, has less power, forced to buy Kinect, and it's the most restrictive console ever, can't even lend my brother a videogame. Total BS.

PSN plus for online is a bit of a downer but at least you get what you pay for with discounts and free games.
Also, the free games for Live Gold expires December 2013 if you read the fine print, and you must sign up for automatic renewal which is a total pain to unsubscribe from.
Titanfall looked cool but $500 plus live subscription and less power. They sacrificed power and force you to pay for Kinect.
A lot of multiplats looked similar but some PS4 games destroyed Xone graphically. I'm see as time goes on the disparity will increase as devs only recently found out about PS4 added RAM
