I think the only way MS is going to turn the tide is to release at at most $400. $350 without Kinect could give them a upper hand.
Everyone I know who I'll call the "average core gamer" that games almost daily but doesn't read up about them on N4G and other game sites first asked "what's the price?" When I said PS4 $400 and Xone $500 there all like "PS4!!! F Xbox, way too much, why so expensive? Is it a beast?"

Remember the most popular/best selling games a multiplats. Most people will get the system that allows them to play their favourite games. PS3 had a reputation for inferior ports, PS4 games will at least be equal and perhaps after a year or two superior.

My biggest complaint about Xone is it cost more and is less powered than PS4. Prolly because it forces everyone to buy Kinect. And the TV stuff is useless, streaming is the future. I thought Xbox was going to have a TV streaming service to rival others, al they have is a Halo show.
PSN Plus offers 7-10 dollar discounts on most digital new releases. Hope they continue to do so
If companies are so concerned about used games and lending to friends, how about providing some INCENTIVES to buy digital. If they're not paying for shipping, manufacturing, and retail then charge $40-45 a new release. All digital means no more used games sales or lending and gamers save the amount that they could get on trade in. Win win.

It's called O-P-T-I-O-N-A-L. If you want the disc free sharing, consent to the checkins and DRM, if you don't no disc free sharing, family plan, etc.
Where is he basing his figures on. I buy 10-12 brand new games a year but often trade in a game or two when doing so. If I couldn't trade in games I'd buy 4-6 new games a year or just wait until they dropped in price by $30.

Of course I would prefer free, but as an exLive user, at least Plus provides an equal value for the money. With all the free games and discounts you'll end up making your money back and a lot of the games are really good.
Live is only a pay wall, even to services you already paid for like netflix or free stuff like you tube or IE. Live makes you feel like you're being ripped off.

I'd much prefer 720p at 60 FPS. While moving it would look sharper too, eliminates that TV blur when moving the camera.
