They only provided one in-game shot (identified by HUD) and it looks like crap so let's look at the replay:
http://www.autogaming.net/c...
Native Resolution: 900x506 (0.46 Million pixels/frame)
Number of cars/race: 8
Frame-rate: unknown
Compare with this similar replay shot from GT5 Prologue:
It's quite simple. Killzone 2 looks better in motion, where texture quality is less important than dynamic lighting, while Crysis can look better in screen shots where it's stellar texture quality is shines through.
To sum it up: Crysis has better textures while KZ2 has better lighting.
In fact, KZ2 has the best and most complete lighting system on any platform. This is why it "looks" better than any other game despite Crysis having technically bett...
Like many an arm-chair analyst, this guy does not understand the basics of business and technology adoption.
Price is the only reason why the 360 currently has higher sales. How do we know this? By asking a simple question.
If the 360 was the same price ($399) as the PS3, which would have higher sales?
Crysis has by far the best textures resolution but Killzone's lighting is in a class of it's own.
Yet again we see a console game outperform it's specifications. If the RSX was in a PC it would not be able to produce Killzone 2 quality graphics, or, for that matter, graphics like MGS4, GT5 and LBP.
It's the Cell processor and the fact that it can single-handedly (easily) outperform either the RSX or Xenos GPU in certain types of rendering procedures that makes t...
people seriously expect DMD to succeed? The country's infrastructure simply cannot handle it at this time. For both technical and economic reasons it will be a long time before DMD is feasible. The infrastructure, publisher support, and consumer interest is simply not there at this time.
... that I gave you bubbles so that others will read your post and laugh.
Here's a bit of uninvited advice about life that I'm writing out of sheer sympathy for a lost soul.
Whatever chip you have on your shoulder, whether it's the supposedly sleazy guy who got the girl you like (umm, she probably puts up with the sleaziness because he's good in bed and makes her feel sexy, unlike you who make her feel creeped out or worse, bored), Sony, or anyone else you want...
unfortunately.
The Xbox360 has so little consumer interest that even at $199 it can't win. How cheap does it have to be before it leads the console race.
At $279, the PS3 was beating it despite being $399.
At $199, it finally started beating the $399 PS3 but still can't beat the $249 Wii.
Maybe at $99?
A reporter did in an article about the PS2. Microsoft also said Toy Story in an article/interview about Xbox. Not a single PS2 demo looked anywhere near as good as GT4, God of War, Jak, Ratchet, etc...
GT5 looks better and is technically superior
KZ2 is, in some aspects, not as good technically as the CGI but certainly looks better thanks to the advanced lighting and post-processing
Resistance looks better and is technically superior
Drake doesn't quite look as sharp in some regards but is better in others
Heavely Sword looks spot on
Motorstorm does not look as good as the CGI.
Between those games, 3 look better, 2 are abou...
You can always tell a polygon challenged engine by how clean and austere it is where the developers have had to keep object count to a minimum and this engine is clearly not limited in that way.
The huge amount of unnecessary and superfluous detail in the environment is a sign that their engine can plenty of polygons and then some. Just look at all the garbage and clutter on the ground. The draw-distance looks impressive as well. Even more impressive is that they've done th...

if he doesn't care to pay a few bucks extra for much higher visual and audio fideility for that particular title, then he can always get the DVD version and watch it on the blu-ray player.
Having said that, I doubt this fellow would have been as offended by the price of higher quality if the disc happened to be HD-DVD, which had media priced exactly the same as Blu-Rays. He seems to have a chip on his shoulder regarding Blu-Ray in particular.
Having said that, g...
Let's forget about the Wifi, HDD, etc. add ons.
Just online multiplayer.
You will own the console for 4 years.
Xbox360: $200 + 4x$50 = $400
PS3: $400 + 4x$0 = $400
The price is the same over 4 years.
However, the PS3 also gives you Wifi, HDD, the world's best and only fully upgradeable 1080P/7.1 Blu-Ray playback, built-in web-browser, Linux capability, etc...
All for the same price as a stripped d...
Shadows and lighting look much more sophisticated than the last version. Not sure about polycount given the length of the trailer.
The bit with the hand looks a bit too good to be real-time but given Naughty Dog's record it just might be.
He's right that Sony has already won. With DVD going the way of the Dodo (fast shrinking marketshare) and HD-DVD already a distant memory, Sony has already won. Now that Blu-Ray is taking over Sony's got a massive income source to look forward to.
However, it's absolutely untrue that the Cell processor is not well suited to gaming. The reality is that the bulk of the processing in games can be parallelized and the Cell, providing game developers with more than 7 parallel pro...
The 360 ought to be winning the sales race. It's not.
At $400, it sold worse than the $600 PS3.
At $300, it sold worse than the $400 PS3.
In fact, the 360 didn't sell better than the PS3 until Microsoft desperately slashed the price down to $199.
$199 is the price where sales are supposed to take off.
The PS3 entered the market a year later plus it's got more advanced tech so it wont be able to tap into the $199 marke...
Until the $199 360 came out:
Wii: 13.4M ($250)
PS3: 6.5M ($400)
360: 4.9M ($300)
After the $199 model came out:
Wii: 7.9M ($250)
PS3: 2.6M ($400)
360: 4.1M ($200)
Currently, both the PS3 and 360 stand at 9M, with the PS3 slightly ahead. However, until Sep 5, when the 360 had it's last chance price-cut, the more expensive PS3 was outselling it by a huge margin this year (6.5M to 4.9...
The environment has more detail than in Gear2 and the draw-distance was also better in the original. What were once clearly textured buildings in the distance are now ugly brown smears. The beautifully curved dresser in one of the pictures is not a simple rectangular box. The rain soaked path with high resolution shaders is now just a generic average-res smudged brown texture.
Only in a few situations has the environmental detail increased, and in that's because in those sit...
