Buy a backup or two.
The current liquidation prices on the "fat" 360s are a great opportunity to stock up.
So nothing's stopping you from playing those games on your PS2.
The re-releases are for people who want to play those games in HD with improved graphics.
because Microsoft has no clue how to create a compelling consumer product.
Almost all the developers are trying to do the same thing. All the games play the same. It's boring and predictable.
The reason is that all of them think the same way. This always happens when MBAs are put in charge and, inevitably, they are.
Sales increase came at expense of Wii.
Wii hardware and software sales were down.
360 and PS3 hardware and software sales were up.
This means that, unlike last week, the 360 did add more new customers than usual.
Once all the "fat" 360s and bundles have been liquidated, expect things to return to normal.
You don't develop what you hope to market as a premium product, attempt to cast a "classy" looking girl, write a decent narration, then film the thing with a $200 camcorder in your basement on a lazy saturday afternoon.
Are much closer with the 360 at 34 Million and the PS3 at 34.5M.
However, there a far more PS3 customers than 360 customers.
This is because many 360 owners own multiple 360s (RROD replacement, extra rooms, back up, etc.) but few PS3 owners own more than one.
For example, the recent jump in 360 sales due to liquidation prices of the "fat" version, were by consumers who already owned 360s.
Other than that ... looks cool.
I seriously question their research methodology.
The sales numbers contradict the claims of this report.
Spending patterns, not surveys, are the best indicator of consumer preference.
Successful companies don't waste money on surveys that ask consumers questions that they don't fully understand.
The first game had outstanding textures and lighting. Blew away any other sandbox games by a country mile.
The most significant weakness with the first game was objects visibly streaming in when moving too quickly. For example, when falling from a tall building, you'd actually see parked cars appear out of nowhere.
That's a memory issue so hopefully they've solved it.
Based on the video, it looks like they've kicked everyth...
Watching in HD, I kept pausing it looking for flaws in the close-up view of the enemy characters but there weren't any.
They have a really rendering technology. Should be interesting to see what they could do with the Cell processor.
Don't forget, folks, the graphics in that video are being produced by the specification equivalent of a 256MB Nvidia GeForce 7900GT.
Cell processor = GPU accelerator
It's like hooking up a GPU to the mother of all turbochargers.
just what aspect of "milo tech" are they saying they don't use in Kinectimals?
The graphics rendering code? The guy hiding behind a curtain controlling Milo?
Infamous 1 was, by far, the best looking open-world game at release.
Lighting, textures and overall level of detail far exceeded games like GTA IV.

If advance means higher rendering performance, then yes.
If advance means potential for an innovative new rendering technique that provides better graphics without increasing hardware load, then the Wii and 360 might have some opportunity to improve though not nearly to the degree of the PS3.
Between the Wii and the 360, the Wii is more promising. Few developers have pushed it to the limit or experimented with new graphics techniques.
Madwor...
It was a faked demonstration.
The only reason why anyone thought that there was AI in Milo was because Microsoft faked it.
Then they got caught by the press.
Milo couldn't possibly live on as "tech" when there's clearly no "tech" behind it.
As I've been saying for a long time, the infrastructure is simply not there for this.
Their best bet is to partner with Verizon or other ISP and have it hosted at the ISP's datacenter to reduce latency/lag/bandwidth.
Impressive visuals.
It's about time.
The Gamecube had some stand-out visuals as well.
