Something rubbish like GFWL I expect.
Who are these articles trying to kid, actual game performance tells you all you need to know, no amount of articles glorifying Xbox One can change that.
This is one of the main reasons that I have so much apathy towards gaming these days, unless you're into 'competitive online gaming' you're pretty much purchasing half a game.
When I play a game I want to relax and have fun. I find competitive online gaming impossible to relax because you need to be on your toes all of the time, at least if you want to succeed. It makes you wonder how that sort of stress day in day out might be affecting the psychology of youn...
Farming isn't fun it's like a job because it's so monotonous, it is more of an addiction and like every other addiction you need to control the amount of time you spend doing it because it's only going to damage other areas of your life and you'll have absolutely nothing to show for it at the end of it, each new expansion will take away any progress you have achieved. That is how these games keep you 'hooked' long term, they pick you up from near the finish line an...
So gamers are to blame for Microsoft's decision to skimp on their hardware specification so that they can bundle in Kinect which they never even attempted to utilise in any meaningful way and has already flopped? Kinect should have remained an optional add-on and Microsoft wouldn't have needed to make cuts elsewhere to keep Xbone within budget, it was Microsoft's greed in wanting a return on their investments into Kinect which has resulted in 1080P being beyond them and not the ne...
You need to understand how these games work, the expansion will put you back to where you were when Destiny released before you spent 3mths wasting your life farming for good gear, then they will do the same 3mths after this expansion.
In about 5 years when you're level 50, having spent £200 on expansions and half your life farming you'll realise what a waste of time/money it's all been. Playing these games can be best described as a dog chasing its tail.
Too much grass again? where's the power of the cloud when you need it?
1600x900 = 1,440,000 pixels (900P)
1400x1080 = 1,512,000 pixels
1920x1080 = 2,073,600 pixels (1080P)
So a similar amount of pixels to 900P... I guess 1400x1080 just sounds better though.
“If all you’re doing is rendering polygons, yes, the PS4 is a little faster"
This is article is misrepresenting PS4's GPU superiority, the PS4 has countless more 1080P titles and Xbone usually has to make sacrifices to get there, or run at 900P.
It's fair to say that they probably tested the game and removed grass from areas where the Xbone frame rate tanked, if they had targeted 900P they could have probably left it all in.
It's GPU pixel fillrate, all of those blades of grass need drawing and PS4 GPU can draw nearly twice as many pixels per second. 32 ROPS v 16 ROPS.
PS4 version looks truly next gen, the large flat textured areas with small clumps of grass scattered around is something we've been seeing for years.
Well said, bubble for intelligence.
There is already talk about new level caps and armour/weapons in the next expansion so don't waste 200hrs making your character into a Ferrari, because with each new expansion they will downgrade you to a Ford and you'll have to start all over again.
I'm not surprised that he isn't ashamed of the hardware when they can keep publishing spin about it being a match for PS4 and get away with charging the same price.
Disagree all you want Microsoft fanboys and paid shills but you can't argue with reality and some simple math...
PS4
32(ROP's) x 800(Mhz) = 25.6 Gpix/s fillrate.
Xbone
16(ROP's) x 850(Mhz) = 13.6 Gpix/s fillrate.
That's nearly 100% advantage which is why PS4 can render 1600 dancers and not just 830 and is the reason why so many PS4 games run at 1080P and not 900P.
"This is particularly true for PS4 GPGPU, which was able to render 1600 dancers, almost doubling XB1 GPGPU (830); this isn’t unexpected, as the primary hardware advantage of PS4 alongside its GDDR5 is having 50% more Compute Units (18 vs 12)."
Rendering is done by the ROP's (Render Output Units) and it's not GPGPU it's just normal graphics rendering.
PS4 - 32 ROP's
Xbone - 16 ROP's.
Which is why the PS4 c...
"Yes, we have a deal with Microsoft"
Say no more...
The simple fact is still that PS4 has such an advantage in terms of GPU power that ANY game which can run at 900P on Xbone can run at 1080P on PS4. CPU bottlenecks don't affect the ability to increase resolution.
That's another £40 saved then. Thanks Ubisoft you've saved me £80 so far this year with your sub 1080P parity BS.
Xbox One owners are second best, why try to fool them otherwise with parity clauses that punish small developers?
Most other games you won't even put a fraction of the amount of time in and have just as much fun, everything about these types of games is designed to waste your time and take ten times longer than is necessary with that carrot of loot dangling in front of you.
You may argue now, but one day when Destiny is just a memory you will wish you spent your time better.
Anyone who expects Scorpio to be anything revolutionary is sadly mistaken, look at it as a 4K supporting Xbox One that's all. Unfortunately, they are rumoured to be using the same underpowered 8 core 'energy efficient' processor. The majority of the performance improvement is in the GPU which will simply allow for 4K resolution, those with 1080P displays will probably just enjoy the same graphics as PS4 users have ever since its launch.
It will be better than PS...
