Not quite. If you think of it, BluRay is an evolution of DVD, as was DVD is an evolution of VHS. So technically they aren't "competition" seeing as how the same movie studios is releaseing a DVD and Blu-Ray version. It's just something that's going to take time for people to start catching on, with more and more people buying HDTV's and blu-ray players.

The PS3, assuming it's not a 40gb, can upscale all PS2 games up to 1080p, or whatever the highest resolution of the TV is.

But I actually have a X360 that I enjoy (but not as much as the PS3) and strangely enough, I still don't have a RROD. The only hardware Issue I have right now is the disc tray being stuck and I have to push it for it to open itself. Other than that, been having my 360 since around beginning of 2007 with no issues.

everything is looking pretty good. However I think Star Wars the force Unleashed has better physics as far as destructible environments.
