Also interesting to see that each of these MGS4 bundles will also be counted towards the sales number for MGS4. So Konami is definitely going to appreciate this one. Motorstorm alone hit 2 million in the U.S. alone because of the 80gb bundle. This one is gonna go through the roof.
And I also agree with previous posts saying they need to advertise the hell out of this game. Put a MGS4 trailer in all the movie theatres, especially from Cinemark's "First look" trailers. ...
why would it be desperate? if anything, it's pure genious. and if Microsoft bundled Gears 2 with they're console, that would also be pure genious. it's no acts of desperation, it just flat out GENIOUS!

I totally understand. It's actually the same way when it comes to motorsports. If you ever watch Top Gear on BBC (one of my favorite shows ever) they always throw in an american joke here or there about american cars.
In the end though, it seems like they want to like american products, loves what it offers, but is truely jaded by it's reliability.

Europe just hates americans and american products. Everytime I play COD4, I end up in at least one UK server and all I hear is "What you yankers doin hea'? You yanks dun know hawww to play Call of Dootie!"

Oh and as far as the whole sales debate thing going, it doesn't really matter. Resistance 1 sold over 2 million copies, and Gears 1 sold over 4.5 million copies. I think honestly Gears of War 2 will definitely outsell Resistance 2 seeing as how there's just more 360's out there, and definitely more Gears of War fans out there. Quite simply, Gears 1 was just an awesome game and every one who bought Gears 1, will definitely buy Gears 2. It's almost like a for sure another 4.5 million sales. <...

Unfortunately the poor smucks who walks into a retail store, see's that game on the shelf, thinking "Ooh, a cool looking action first person shooter. *looks at back cover* okay i'll buy it" without doing any type of research because he's just a casual consumer. It's not going to happen, seeing as how Toshiba themselves has announced they are stopping HD-DVD.
And secondly, the 360 already upscales regular DVD's as long as you use HDMI or VGA.
So the HD-DVD add-on is just using up space. My brother is taking his and just connecting it to the PC lol.

I do not forsee a X360 blu-ray add-on. However the next Xbox will most likely have it, seeing as how it might be truely be the only "Disc" format available anyway. Unless they want to continue using a DVD9 (which isn't likely).
