There's only a month and a half left. As bad as delays seem, they're making a better game for us. I honestly think if they released it in November, it would have definitely gone Multiplatform for sure. It would have been critizied left and right and probably got a 5/10 in reviews. It would have been glitchy and incomplete.
Glad Free Radical knew this before releasing it too early.
@Jinn.
You see, sometimes it's not even just about sales numbers. In a interview with Dave Doak, one of the main guys of Free Radical. A question was brought up on why did they choose to go with the PS3 as the lead platform (at the time) and he simply replied "The little guys need help too"
So you see, the PS3 at the time was the underdog. And yes, the PS3 only has approx a 10 million userbase, and the 360 has a userbase of about 18 million (not 22 mil...
"Tell that to your x360 buddies like firstkinght or POG. In case you didn't know. This is two months in the only region that the x360 has a chance of beating the PS3. "
quote of the week. it's very true. people were dancing around about the 360 having a stronghold in N/A. it's true, it did. after being outsold in Japan and Europe, N/A was an important region for them. until the last couple months. that's why all these PR spins starting pouring out. why? because the st...
yeah good job Microsoft. Only 6 million more than ps3 world wide with a year headstart? *rolls eyes*
that's completely fine, except the fact that since the PS3's launch. 360 owners are the ones that expected the PS3 to flop and die once Halo 3 launched. but look how that's turning out this year. =)
blu-ray won and only 11% increase? one thing thing you need to realize is that the general consumer aren't up to date with these silly format wars. There's still HD-DVD's and HD-DVD players out there in the market. there's still people out there buying it. but you won't really start to see blu-ray sales super explode until at least june when everything on the shelves is blu-ray only.
and for microsoft, they are putting they're eggs in they're super big exclusive game this year...
What about Naughty Dog?
And does anybody know if Ready at Dawn will be a multiplatform company? Or straight up Sony only? I would imagine they'd make a excellent multiplat title, although of course if they make a PS3 exclusive title it will be mind-boggling without any constraints.
They sure as heck know the PSP hardware inside and out, and my guess is that they won't have any problems for the PS3.
Edit: N/M, just realized they are making Okami fo...
I also seriously ponder how accurate this whole "shortage" thing is. Since January, I've seen plenty of X360's at gamestop, wal-mart, target, and best buy here. Infact my cousin just got himself a x360 pro in feb come to think of it.
maybe there is shortages somewhere else, but definitely not in my area.
Is it me, or is there just a Flurry of Microsoft PR talk to slow Sony's momentum for the PS3 and Blu-ray in the past couple days?
What next? XBOX 720 announcement I'm looking at you.
Come on, who cares if it's not 103423402304324X AA. The game is starting to look good again! Although I thought it was confirmed for 720p and 30fps, not 1080p.
It's not the same as music.
1 Song, average 5mb
1 1080p 7.1 lossless audio movie, 15-25gb's
Yeah, people are going to download movies by the boatloads now.
true, but look at the Wii in comparison to the PS3 and 360 titles. The only good Wii games are from Nintendo and only a few good 3rd party games. The other games are mostly just quick overnight developed mini games.
there's higher resolution clips of the same videos on ign.com
the real question is though, how much of a price cut can microsoft continue to afford? what about any type of profit? the repair service due to the whole RROD issue is costing them a lot of money, plus a $50 or $100 price cut off they're system without any type savings for manufacturing the consoles looks to be very risky.
I mean yeah we all know MS has money up the ying yang, but it doesn't mean they want to keep losing money. Otherwise they wouldn't be in the rich position t...
I think it's a smart thing for microsoft to drop the price of the 360. It will sell a lot more, considering GTAIV is on the horizon, and Gears 2 in the holiday season. The fight between PS3 and 360 is getting very interesting. Who knows, maybe sony will respond with a $50 price drop, making the 40gb at $349 will seem very attractive to consumers considering blu-ray's triumph.
The Original XBOX debuted in japan 2 years after the Playstation 2, and we all know how it ended. The XBOX 360 debuted 1 year before Playstation 3 and Wii, and doesn't look all that much better. If the system debuted the same time as the Playstation 3 and Wii, it wouldn't gain any market share. So even with a year headstart, $60 cheaper than the U.S., and a bigger library of games, it still cant manage to put it's feet on the ground in japan.
Japanese people like reliable prod...
i think the 360 is going to make a home run if MS drops the price for the USA on their system in april before GTAIV.
I wouldn't be too surprised if people bought this anyway just because they hate blu-ray
What is Mr. Gates going to do now? Probably release a new Xbox or Windows and boom. He'll be the richest again.
is it possible those will be fixed seeing as how they have about 4 weeks left of developement?
