If GTAIV's episodic content was FREEEEEEEEEEEEE, then I'm pretty sure more and more people will buy a 360 just for that. But knowing that the video game industry is also a business, you bet your damn shiniest penny that the exclusive DLC will cost $$$.

Well, everybody knows that there will be down times here and there. Those things cant be helped. But it's the NUMEROUS down times for a paid service is what's wrong. Using your cell phone example, if you paid $55 a month for your sprint service, and it goes out one day. No big deal, it happens. But imagine it not working 15 out of 30 days in the month each month? Wouldn't you be pretty pissed and not be hard pressed to switch services?

Well seeing as how you don't have a PS3, you wouldn't have the slightest clue on any mods that are out. You won't ever get to play them. You only look at a few screenshots on the web and think to yourself, they're not worth playing. But how would you know? You never played it. And don't give me the whole "Oh well I played it at my friend's house and it sucks" routine. Tired of hearing that.
And you'd be blind to see that having FREE mods is an excellent thing to have. ...
Actually, the Unreal franchise was never about sales. It was about mod support in the community, which Epic Games takes a close look at to see what kind of talents are out there. Plus it gives them new ideas for any upcoming projects.
However I would agree that UT3 sales could have been better anyway. What killed it was the whole unknown release date, plus no advertisements AT ALL, and being overshadowed by many other games in november.
Did you not look at what's being compared? What is being done by the CPU alone, without the aid of the Graphics Card. The other, is with the graphics card. So obviously the one with the GPU will look better. But that's not that point. The point is, the CPU renders are astonishingly close considering the CPU's has other tasks to take care of as well as rendering the game the same time.
It just gives developers a glimpse of what they can do in the future with a powerful processor ...
So you're telling me the PS3, a 1 year younger console has the same graphics or better than a 2 1/2 year old one? Interesting. Umm.. You do realize the major PS2 franchises are also going to the PS3? Gran Turismo, Final Fantasy, God of War, Metal Gear Solid, and a boatloads of other new stuff. So if you wanna talk about games, the PS3 has them too. Games that the XBOX doesn't have. Games that PS2 owners will purchase a PS3 for. Halo isn't enough to pull all those Final Fantasy fans to the 360. Believe that.
Actually it wouldn't be considered a "sleeper hit" if it became a success. It'd be more like a "Phew, it's a hit. Thank god my $65 wasn't wasted"
A sleeper hit would be a title that has little to no hype, but turns out to be an excellent game. I would say Bioshock fell into that category. And maybe the original God of War.
that arguement would be very sufficient if it wasn't the fact that games like Uncharted, Ratchet & Clank FTOD, and GT5P didn't come out. All that numbers talk doesn't even matter. And keeping in mind, if the 360 was so superiorly much more powerful than the PS3, then how in the flying world did 3rd party games like Devil May Cry 4, COD4, Condemned 2, etc. look exactly like the 360's with less time?
Gears of War... Of course, that's the only game you can use to argue graphics with anymore. I'd definitely like to see Gears 2 though, so for the next 2-3 years after that, you can use that game to argue graphics against the PS3.

I bet to differ, the metal gear series had that for me. But of course i'm not knocking on GTA, i'm getting GTAIV for sure. But i'd have to give the cinematic title to metal gear.

Sales are sales, and it takes exclusive games to get them. Why do you feel the need to hate on that? It's no secret without certain software, the hardware won't move captain obvious.
overall Gamefly is a good service, but it's ridiculous sometimes with popular games. Takes weeks to get them. Heck, even the un popular games are hard to get. I would cancel it already if it wasn't the fact that once I do get the game, it's 10% off the already lower price which is usually $40 for a new game. And most of the time, the games are in great condition, heck some of them look spic and span new. So $35 for a brand new game isn't bad at all.
I'd recommend it.
