You might have a point about the ps2, but the PS4 is cheaper and more powerful and has the software too. So if anything is more like the ps2 it's the ps4 ten fold.
Is that so? So the millions and millions of people who ditched their 720p tvs for 1080p tvs don't count? The average consumer is still informed enough to tell the difference between 720p and 1080p because of the past 7-8 years of marketing.
Not really, the GPU just isn't good enough for a solid 60fps at 1080p with all the details cranked up. And not even mentioning the slower RAM DDR3 that it has to use to store data. It's like having a 8000 slow trucks carry all the load with 32 Ferrari's (ESRAM) transfer the data back and forth as needed.
This article summed it up a long time ago.

I was surprised I just copied the CD KEY from origins, and went to Add CD Key on Steam and voila, worked like a charm.
Wow teh cloud seems to be amazing. I hope it can make me a sandwich.
Probably cooking up a new spin as we speak.
How is it that all these rumors circulate amongst people who favor Sony over Microsoft and end up being true.
*fixed
Now it makes sense, it will scale perfectly on a 720p hdtv. Can't wait to see the next xbox, 480p upscaled to 4K since its practically the same thing right? Right?
What in the world does resolution have to do with the online network? *facepalm*
Answer: A
I guess you must have missed some of the comments in which they think 720p will be clearer than 1080p.. it's borderline insanity
This time it should. When people upgraded from a xbox to xbox360, they went from 480p to 720p. Its natural to expect the next system to upgrade to 1080p or at least a bigger jump in hardware specs. And for it to cost $500 it should be mandantory.
All xbox 360 games were upscaled to 1080p, doesn't mean the games were.
Umm those are the days without the internet and social media. You're free to log off and go there if you'd like.
Hahahahahahaha oh lord, what next 480p better than 720p?
I'm pretty sure the 360 and ps3 will be 600p as its always been. But hey that's good news, xbox one people get to upgrade to 720p
Umm sure they did, $9m worth.
Sorry I agree that EA is part of the problem. It's really a hard situation, the console won't sell if there isn't enough support, but won't have enough support if it doesn't sell enough hardware. It's stuck between a rock and a hard place.
I actually wanted to buy one, but my budget is limited this holiday and there really isn't anything I'm dying to play on it.
I think you misread the headline. It's about the wii and wii u combined only made $9m of revenue for EA out of $693m. That's bad because they could stop supporting those consoles and it wouldn't make much of a difference to their overall revenue.
People should have a look at this
