Oh god I can't wait. Bethesda's writing, characters, and choice/consequence have always disappointed me. But the writers and designers behind wasteland 2 are like a dream team of talent.
Poor Warren, he REALLY wanted those games to work. It's okay buddy, you made Deus Ex. Everything else in your career can be absolute shit and I'd be fine with it, because nothing can undo that masterpiece. I just hope everyone finds work. Thankfully, junction point is in Austin, and there's a TON of development houses in Austin.
*makes big stink about lack of wasteland 2*
I dunno, I've been playing as mechromancer since the steam sale and never noticed the glitch, it couldn't have been THAT prevalent. I got a kick out of the patch notes though. Gearbox is one of those developers that seems like they have a blast at work.
Gimmie wasteland 2
I'm less than halfway through the game that won, so I can't say I agree or disagree with the decision, but it's refreshing to see that narrative was the primary factor in their decision.
yeah, the collectors only really made sense in karpyshyn's original story arc, where the purpose of the reapers was to combat the spread of dark energy. since shepard fucked up their plan by stopping sovereign, and since they were desperate for a new reaper to help their cause, they had to use the collectors to begin construction for them in a last-ditch effort. but since bioware abandoned the dark energy plot, it makes substantially less sense.
Spoilers for ME3
The biggest let-down for me wasn't the ending. In fact, if the indoctrination theory turns out to be true, I think the ending could potentially be absolute genius.
What disappointed me was the way they slap the player in the face in regards to their past choices. Did you kill the rachni queen, or save her? Doesn't matter. That scene plays out the same, except if you killed her, they throw in a line about her being a reaper clone o...
Turning off global illumination helps cut back the random light sources. But I'm glad they threw in that bloom option.
What a great way to memorialize the victims, exploit the tragedy for your own self-righteous political bullshit.
I disagree. One of the best things about a first-person narrative (when done properly) is that it allows the player's reactions and motivations to become those of the protagonist. The author only saw one ending as fitting because of how he reacted to the events in the game, and was able to react by exacting the revenge he was motivated to achieve. Personally, I found the no-kill ending to be most fitting for "my" corvo, because "my" corvo wanted to show those assholes ...
On the other hand, it WAS made by kids. Gotta pick your battles, I s'pose.
I think the only ones that aren't on PC are the
"stories" games and Chinatown Wars. People are worried because Red Dead Redemption never received a PC port.
likewise, updated ps3 firmware and all was well.
Good points. I'd like to see a legitimate compare/contrast article instead of this sloppy rant. How do the communication features of xbl compare to those of steam? How does the value of PlayStation plus compare to your typical summer/holiday steam sale? We all know you can use gamepads for nearly all modern Pc games, so how about comparing latency? Compare the actual exclusives of each platform. Compare the network infrastructure of online console games vs online PC games. How much can yo...
Good to know. If there was, I was going to hold off, but since there isn't I might as well grab it now. Thanks!
Is there a vita version coming at some point?
"When his cousin refused his advances, he sent a watch patrol to beat her to death."
Definitely killed that guy. The heart adds depth to even the most standard of enemy guards. If I forget to use the heart on a target before taking them out, I have to reload a quicksave because I have to hear what it says. I love it.
There's a super troopers reference too!
