"Oh please. Pre-orders don't directly represent sales, but they're definitely reliable indicators. You're only pretending like things have reset because the Xbone has less pre-orders."
You guys still don't get it. This is about DRM, they are both back to a level field and they are now both the same as far as DRM for disc based games go.
You guys want to keep going off-topic about specs, games and numbers. There is no denying the PS...
"They are the same...in what regard?"
In what I was talking about, DRM on disc based games. Did my comment mention controllers or anything else? Isn't that what this topic is about? It's not about games or system specs. So yes, in that regard they are the same, not sure how you couldn't follow that.
Glad you agree, Forza 5 looks great. Good to see you're excited about the game too. I imagine the online will show how much Xbox Live has grown too.
Why not just talk about Forza 5 instead of dragging console wars into it?
The cloud will be able to crunch data and recreate your driving patterns to have better A.I. The new system also allows physics that weren't possible on the old Xbox. It's going to be running at 60fps and in 1080p. Plus dedicated servers. This is next gen.
Having it partnered with Top Gear is just gravy on top.
So basically both companies were thinking of DRM but Sony was wiser to listen to feedback and lay it out there at E3 that they weren't going to go ahead with it. Microsoft on the other hand decided to go ahead even though they also had feedback leading up to E3. I imagine pre-orders were a lot lower and with rumors of Gamestop not pushing the Xbox One that much Microsoft buckled and then said they reversed it due to feedback.
That is why Sony looks better in the end, they...
Sure they can do better but it also doesn't help in a field filled with males and the stereotype of gamers being teenage boys.
Stuff like this also doesn't help,

Then you have someone like Jade Redmond who gamers oogle over her looks rather than her accomplishments.
@DragonKnight,
Of course they do when the general population here is heavily leaned towards PS3 owners and not Xbox 360 owners. Even though they are actually relatively close in overall sales. Why is that? You never really do get a good answer to that. The Wii/WiiU, Xbox 360, handhelds and PC don't add up all together to just the PS3 forums. Weird.
It's also amazing how some would use the term "dead" last like the Xbox 360 was so far behind....
Rare needs to have a breakthrough title on the Xbox One. It's pretty sad what they've become over the years but Xbox fans are also partially to blame because Kameo and Viva Pinata were fun games but never sold that well. I did my part, I bought them (not Perfect Dark Zero).
I want to see them do something good besides Kinect only games.
How about simply giving them credit for selling almost 80 million units in such a hard market to compete in? North America is also the largest region for overall console sales.
The Xbox 360 also started off at $399 for the preferred system and it is now $199. So in almost 8 years they are still selling a $200 console without many price drops. All while some thought it would end up like the original Xbox only lasting about 4 years and developers are still supporting the Xbox 3...
Hicken,
"As you say, there should be the weighing of pros and cons involved; unfortunately, the cons outweigh the pros rather handily for this system. And yet, most of those who say they're still getting one- particularly those who put it BEFORE the PS4- don't even acknowledge that the cons exist."
Why do you care what they want? If the Xbox One has mostly cons for you then buy a PS4 and move on. The problem is you seem adamant on not moving...
I haven't seen any ads for tampons. I doubt we will see that on the Xbox One either.

That is what the dashboard will look like. It has to do with services provided. I find it odd people will complain about that and on top of it complain when they have no intentions of buying the Xbox One anyways.
Sony has a better track record when it comes to games but yes, numbers don't matter much at the end of the day. Games are going to look great on both systems but some just love to hold one system on a higher plateau all the time.
It is ridiculous for Microsoft to downplay numbers for the PS4 and say its about the games. This is Sony we are talking about, not Apple. However what's really alarming are the so called gamers on this site. Those who take this stuff so serio...
Another reply in the same topic yet adding nothing to the actual discussion. Why are you here then if you're not interested in actual debates?
Kaz id slowly turning the ship around but the stock price of Sony is $21.20 currently. Much lower than the pre-PS3 days and a lot of that is the TV division which Sony used to be king at but thanks to Samsung Sony has lost a large chunk of that market. That stock price the last 52 weeks has fluctuated from a low of $9.57 to a high...
Why don't you list them instead of labeling him a troll? The best way to counter someone is with an intelligent response. If he was trolling mark it and move on instead of vying for so much attention all the time and thus continuing down the spiral of more off-topic discussions.
One acquisition is Gaikai which we will not see the benefits of until at least 2014 and we also won't know what additional fees are attached to the consumer. The PS4 is getting very positive r...
"now onto the next."
You're right.
1. Remove mandatory Kinect
2. Lower price
3. Have better and more exclusives
4. Add a touchpad to the controller
5. Change RAM to match the PS4
6. Fix controller to match dualshock 4
7. Removes Microsoft's involvement totally from the Xbox One and get another company behind it.
Then maybe just maybe we may start actually liking the system.
"M$ are forcing win7 users to switch to win8...
Typical MS."
Really? So what PC games will force DirectX 11.2 only? Also why wouldn't you want to keep people investing in new Windows if that is your business? Would you bash Sony for not allowing PS3 games to work on the PS4? Would you bash Apple for not allowing some IOS features to work with 3GS Iphones?
The point of running a business is to make money and if everyone is still ...
If it becomes a hit MS will close the doors like they did with Gears of War. Seems to me they are working closely with Respawn Entertainment. Of course anything is possible and I think the more people who have access to games the better. Exclusivity doesn't serve the best interest of gamers, it serves to help sell hardware.
Gamecents, publishers used to also be unhappy with PSN download charges.

Now that multiplayer will be behind a paywall much like Xbox Live I expect Sony will partnering themselves better with 3rd party publishers.
People used to complain about Live fees (and still do) but Microsoft also did stu...
testerg35, the answer is clearly yes and that dates back long before the Xbox One.
Here's a thought, if the Xbox One serves no interest why do we continue to see people go out of their way to post about it in Xbox One topics? So either people are trolls or fanboys because common sense would dictate people would focus on the things they do have interest in and it seems no matter what Microsoft does some continue to just pick another area they don't like. Those are not the customers Microsoft was trying to seek out because they will never be customers so why won't...
