"Proof."

Did you not read Sony's comments of we will leave it up to the publishers?

Or MS policies:

"In our role as a game publisher, Microsoft Studios will enable you to give your games to friends or trade in your Xbox One games at participating retailers. Third party publishers may opt in or out of supporting game resale and may set up business terms or transfer fees with retailers. Microsoft does not receive any compens...

DragonKnight,
"HAHAHAHAHAHA! That is a hilarious suggestion. Especially coming from you. When the issue is publishers demanding more money because of used games, you think the retailer's solutions is to demand more money from new games. LMFAO! And just who exactly do you think is going to have to pay for that hmmm?"

Obviously that went over your head. No, the retailers ask the publishers for higher margins. Which of course they can now because they will ...

"Still, I'm hoping their numbers are few, and that the anti-DRM movements going on gain enough traction to force at least the always-online part of the XBO out of the equation. That would go a long way toward reassuring gamers, to say the least."

What gamers, those who live in the mountains with no access to being connected that are right now at their friends house so they can post on N4G?

@dedicatedtogamers,

"The thing about assumptions is they tend to bite you in the butt."

You're right, you assumed just today that the Xbox One wouldn't allow used games.

How many times have we seen on the net not to buy Call of Duty? How does that annual petition work out?

If Microsoft can provide compelling hardware that works as advertised while offering unique gaming experiences they will do just fine. D...

Convenience. Having the ability to play your games on any other system as long as you're signed on. With no need to carry or travel with all of those games. Or worse, pack the system around too.

A competitive model where publishers can actually get a piece of the used market. The market on the PC offers less freedom but consumers get better deals than console gamers do now. A DRM market will have to compete just like a DRM free market.

You're right but guess what, they will try doing it this way regardless. The consumer will decide. So what exactly are you worried about, that you'll be wrong and the consumers will actually adopt it?

Hicken,

"I can't figure out why you haven't been banned yet."

So this is why you clicked a topic about 10 upcoming games, to talk about another user while you yourself have been sitting in limbo at 1 bubble for God knows how long? I thought your complaints for years about the Xbox brand was a lack of games yet here you are unwilling to discuss... games? Odd.

Here, let me help you get on the right track.

"How could stores like Gamestop survive on selling new games while making a super high profit of $4 a copy? I'll wait for your answer to that and move on to your next part."

By either,

A) Ask for a greater share of profits which they may actually get selling new games now that the publishers don't have to battle used games as much.

B) Expand the retail space. Doesn't Best Buy and other retailers sell new games? I know so...

"1st Games aren't everything in life and i do think that my rights as a consumer are more important than a few pixels on a goddamn screen. 15 exclusives won't brainwash me."

Cool.

"2nd The only people I see defending MS anti-consumer practices are seasoned Xbox fanboys that are incapable of saying something negative about MS and their brand so your 2nd paragraph is filled with hypocrisy."

What did Gamespot do to deserve extra money? Oh that's right, pushing used games as new knowing none of those proceeds actually goes back to the people who made it while gouging the consumer int he process for trade-in value.

As a console supplier you have the right to distribute the goods as you see fit. This isn't about consumer rights if they know full well beforehand the restrictions before them. Just like when you sign up for Xbox Live or Playstation Network. <...

"Do you think Sony so stupid as to risk that PR nightmare?"

They got through that giant enemy crab and the $599 price point. They have also already been through the ringer about used games. I expect Sony will also fully explain how used games will work on the PS4 soon enough as those details are still left hanging. Then when they announce publishers will be doing the same thing I expect some folks to backpeddle and still buy those games but suggest at least Sony did...

Any purchase you make on the Playstation store is DRM protected, is it not? Also, please explain to the kind folks how Playstation Plus works, a service many like.

Godmars290,

That's the reality we will live in but, and I say a big but, this is all software based. They probably could make those games playable offline, even after 24 hours. So maybe, just maybe when the Xbox Two comes out and the Xbox One is no longer supported they will allow an offline mode.

The reality is PC gamers have gone through this for years. I have already thought about all the purchases I made on Xbox Live and Playstation Network. What'...

If they are gamers why is it more of a game to some to bash the Xbox One? If they were gamers they would be talking about games, not prancing around giving out misinformation while telling everyone not to buy it. Let's see how many of these so called gamers actually talk about the Xbox one games revealed and not just sidetrack every topic about those games into something else.

Yes there are valid concerns, Yes there are real gamers who bash the Xbox One, some have even su...

JP1369,

I am talking about less latency while playing other people online. Kind of what dedicated servers do for the PC. I am also talking about how the game can change even when you're not playing, which is already a reality. Your game is essentially copied to the cloud, ready for quick access with updates already installed. You could also get challenges when you sign up from friends and instant updates like a Twitter feed.

You really think a car manufacturer will allow a dealership to sell a new car to someone, have them return it in 30 days and then allow the dealership to sell it again but keep all the revenue while the car manufacturer gets nothing? Do you think Levi jeans will allow retailers to sell their clothes while Levi jeans on the other side of the store, that are new just the tag removed, ...

Pubs lock launch. What does that mean, no used sales until they say so? This could be what I mentioned before, they will have a window to sell only new copies and then allow more freedom. That way they can get as much revenue as they can while still giving the consumer some flexibilit...
