@maniacmayhem
Year after year we have heard many cries about Call of Duty yet year after year it outsells all others. Most people don't consumer themselves on a daily basis on forums whining and complaining all day. Most actually buy things for the enjoyment of it.
I find it laughable how upset some people are when they have choices right in front of them.
I DO accept other people's choices when it only negatively affects THEM.
@Hicken,
"But when the stupid choices you make have an impact on me or the people I care about, you bet your ass I'll have something to say about it.
Supporting this console is not good for gaming. No two ways about it. So I'm not gonna just sit quietly."
First off you were very vocal about the Xbox 360. So how did that system impac...
"It would be like the US launching a nuke at China, but hitting New York instead, and then people saying, "Well, a few people probably survived, and they didn't kill anybody anywhere else in the country, so it wasn't ALL bad.""
Wow, now videogames are serious business folks. You heard it right here, the Xbox One is just like world war 3. Which is actually ironic seeing as for many years on N4G it has been a war of both sides because some people hav...
@abzdine
"And if they believe digital is better why didnt they release a disc free console instead?"
1. Some people have data constraints and downloading 50GB games simply isn't feasible to many. You can now install the full game and a copy is applied to the cloud.
2. That copy to the cloud can now be access by you on other Xbox One systems as long as you log in.
3. You can sell that disc, digital copies can't be. <...
@DragonKnight,
"Consoles are rarely on the forefront of true innovation simply because PC gets there before them. If cloud computing were really all that amazing, we'd have seen it already on the PC by now. SimCity is the only game I'm aware of that's supposedly doing it and look at the kind of issues it's had."
We have already seen MMO games that are always alive haven't we? What we are seeing now are single player games blurrin...
@Kyosuke_Sanada
"But the question is any of the talk good and you call being launched in specific countries smooth?? "
They listed the countries that will be launching. My country is one of them.
"My God, this generation......"
Every generation opens up new possibilities. If you don't want to be part of it then don't be. Steam took PC gaming to a new generation which is all digital and no used gam...
That's the hurdle they will have to overcome in the future. So far what I gather is they are pushing the cloud a lot, want everyone to have the same updates and are looking to want a world where everyone is connected so that you can do certain things like share access to 10 other family members game library.
What I saw with games like Destiny and Forza show the potential of true next generation of gaming. Of course the question is why does everyone have to be online but i...
It is progressive. We had games up to about $20 be very successful like Journey and Limbo, both came out digitally (but later on disc as well). We've had season passes to enable DLC packs and we also had online passes both EA and Sony adopted to help alleviate used games. Now we have platforms like Steam and Apple be fully digital with no used market. The Xbox One is in the middle of that. It is treating disc based games sort of like digital but also a controlled used market. It also allo...
To me it's sad how so many want to turn a blind eye to the possibilities of next. gen gaming including what the cloud promises to do and instead keep the focus only on DRM, Kinect being mandatory and always online.
The biggest question to me is the DRM. Kinect being on every system is good imo. That way it's not treated as just a peripheral that won't get any support. Always on is great too, that way Microsoft can push for cloud technology and those 10 people fami...
People wanted games and that is exactly what Microsoft delivered. New ip's, lots of exclusives, great hardware, limitless possibilities with cloud gaming. All being played on possibly the best controller.
Sony did a brilliant move being at $399, no doubt about it. What's interesting is Japan might not make it for 2013, which is odd considering Sony is from Japan.
Microsoft should be called out for doing questionable things. It is now Microsoft's job to prove to us why it's a good move.
The problem is we have a few key members here on N4G who have hated the Xbox brand for many years and this new direction by Microsoft has played right into their hands to keep trolling and now be even more vocal. What you will notice, which to me is ironic, are the ones that are most loyal to Sony seem to still be talking about the Xbox more tha...
@BigFnHooters
"There just isn't going to be much traction trying to get gamers to be mad about something the vast majority of them were going to pay for regardless of the online gaming requirements."
Really? The vast Majority? Ok, mind showing me where those numbers are that Sony released for Playstation Plus members because I can't see them. Believe me, if it was the vast majority Sony would be more than happy to tell us what those numbers ...
Yup, it looks to have a great line-up of games at launch and will no doubt be ready to go right from the get go. If anyone can pull off cloud gaming without any hitches it's Microsoft. The Xbox 360 also had a decent line-up when it came out too. Let's just hope the Xbone continues to get true exclusive support years from now and not dwindle away which it should since Microsoft was focused on the Xbox 360 being profitable which it was. They have now invested 1 billion dollars into game...
Why wouldn't it be about you? You're the one who puts a target on his back. You're the one who can't seem to move on from trolling the Xbox. You're the one who writes bl;ogs about the E3 conferences telling us all how great Sony did while mentioning just Minecraft for the Xbox One event and calling it a shooterbox while ignoring all the games.
Why wouldn't it be about you? You're the one who seems to craves attention. Why else would you write blogs...
Cranky? I just saw two great shows tonight. You're the one who's butthurt being a hypocrite like this topic is suggesting. You're the one who's still shell-shocked that Sony now charges to play online. You're the one who's about to do damage control from here on out on the subject. Me? I'm just here for the ride baby.
You see, that's what distinguishes a GAMER from a FANBOY like you. That it's about winning or losing. That's what fanboys do, they only care about who wins. A gamer will mention games. Perhaps you should put away that Sony handbook for once and start acting like one.
Sony fanboy handbook rule number one, talk about hardcore exclusives when the competitor promotes Kinect.
Sony handbook rule number two, talk about press events that don't focus o...
"You spent 5 paragraphs going off topic about your opinion on me."
That's comedy central coming from you. Your blog on E3 and how you rated it spent about 15 paragraphs telling us how great the show was for Sony and all you had to say about Microsoft's event was Minecraft.
How do you possibly trump that? It's so great seeing you here in this topic. You're a barrel of wisdom on the subject with no bias at all.
Thatta a boy, keep questioning about paying for online play now that Sony has confirmed it. Amazing how when Sony does something you don't agree with you'll send 15 of the top lawyers in the country to investigate but if it's about Microsoft, Geraldo Rivera rides shotgun and that's all you need.
@DragonKnight
"What I think is hilarious is that Microsoft are so arrogant in their belief that they are the forerunners of the future for gaming that they'll sit there and say that they're right and people just don't like change. I'm sorry but who can predict the future? No one. If they can say "this is the future of the industry, and we're the first ones to capitalize on it" then I say give me winning lottery numbers."
These s...
