F-Zero please!
That would rule!!!
I don't think that an Auto show is the place for JRPG's though.
If Reggie had said this, and not Iwata, nobody would be defending him. To his credit, Iwata is really bad at "playing dumb". He said himself that the Wii would not be competing directly with the PS360... and it didn't.
"Nobody is born a hardcore gamer"... really? I admit that i didn't come out of the womb with 100 Skulltulas, however, i have had the hardcore "itch" since the 8 bit days. I never needed a "casual" title to transit...
NoA is at fault for Xenoblade and Last Story... but thats about it. I cannot blame them for the company's mindset. They were given a product, and they marketed this product the best way that they knew how.
But yea, Reggie and Cammy just come across as the slimy, fake, executive types that never seem to have a clue.
The new Golden Eye 007, was a very good game. If u can get passed the "looks great for a Wii game" graphics, everything else was exceptional.
Nice read.
Forgot about Doom for the Snes though! First FPS ever released on a home console. Don't feel bad, i am an old man.
*edit*
Missed the "exclusive" in the title... i'll be shutting up now.
I will still purchase Skyward Sword on day 1, but this is disappointing. First Miyamoto LIES about the game length (50 to 100 hours, means no less than 50 hours!), and now this.
Although i don't remember Nintendo making any promises about the game's difficulty level, i was hoping for a challenge game to keep me busy until the WiiU's release.
What happened to bringing back the hardcore? Did they forget who they are making this game for? Nintendo fa...
I hate to be "this guy", but i am really disappointed.
Zelda is my favorite series, so this is not a bash. I made the mistake of taking Miyamoto at his word (50-100 hrs of "gameplay"... wtf?).
Until this very moment, i imagined being immersed in the world of Hyrule for no less than 50 hrs! I would have praised this game until my very last breath!
Miyamoto's claim of 50-100 hrs of "gameplay" IS wrong! 50 to 10...
Excellent read.
I agree, atmosphere is king! I absolutely fell in love with the Sky and Twilight Temples from Twilight Princess.
...nuff said ...and well said.
No Zelda A Link to the Past?
Really?
Hmmm. Is it rare for a game to be reviewed a month before it's release?
I already preordered Skyward Sword, so this is in no way a "bash". It just seems a little early for reviews, especially reviews claiming it to be "the greatest Zelda EVER". I would be extremely disappointed if they reviewed an unfinished product.
What about the spinoff games where you actually BATTLE?
Pokemon Stadium?
Pokemon Colosseum?
Pokemon Battle Revolution?
Nice read. I definitely recommend reading multiple reviews before purchasing a game.
As naive as this may sound, i never thought about the negative repercussions for reviewers that give out low scores to big budget games. How awful!
Nice. I really appreciate you for posting the interview. I have not heard much from Operation Rainfall since Xenoblade's European release.
On a smaller note... (sorry) how can you even suggest that Op Rainfall is an equivalent to the Tea Party? Operation Rainfall wants something very specific (games that already exist). The Tea Party wants things that can only be defined as relative (people to listen to their paper thin rhetoric and cliches).
Epic!
I have more questions now:
One Goddess, not 3?
Is the intro telling the legend of the Seal War, Dark Interlopers, or neither?
I think that the internet plays a significant part in game difficulty. Gamers of today have tons of online resources at their disposal. Back in the day, if you didn't have a strategy guide for games like Zelda and Metroid, you were in for a tough time.
Well said.
Good point about a new sense of accomplishment after beating a hard/demanding game (i game for that feeling alone). However, i (re)beat Super C and Contra 3 The Alien Wars on the Virtual Console not too long ago, and dude... it was MUCH tougher than i remembered. Needless to say that i didn't exactly blow through those two classics with ease.
Well said.
It was all about skill back in the day. A gamer had to eat, sleep and sh*t a game 24/7 to master it.
I hope that this does not end up being the main commercial for Skyward Sword. I know that this is the 25th anniversary, but that commercial looks like it belongs in a 1980's sitcom. I prefer my nostalgia in the actual game, and not in the commercial. It just screams "out of touch".
