I never believed this rumor. Miyamoto loves being a part of the industry. Out of all of the execs at E3, he always looks like he's having the most fun (he came out with a sword and shield for crying out loud!).
Nintendo is not in the position to force Miyamoto to do anything. This man could instantly get a job anywhere in the industry.
I take it that you have never heard of the Playstion Move either?
I take it that you have never heard of the Playstation Move?
I think that you are "jumping the gun" as well. The problem isn't the critique of Nintendo (especially NoA). Imo the article just seems like it was written a year ago.
The author makes good points concerning Op Rainfall games... but why now? Xenoblade has finally been granted a NoA release (and has been out in Europe for quite some time now). Does it really make a difference if isn't released in the USA before January 1rst 2012? Skyward Sword and Kirby haven...
I understand your argument... but i prefer quality over quantity. Skyward Sword and Xenoblade are not only tremendous, they are arguably the 2 best games ever released for the Wii. Skyward Sword was even nominated for GOTY. Excruciatingly painful? I don't think so.
You didn't find anything "different" in Skyward Sword?
If true, then this can only be a good thing. Hopefully this will amount to unmatched power, a reasonable price, and two controllers.
I never thought that i would say this, but i hope they keep the motion controls. Skyward Sword's motion plus combat is so addictive.
Miyamoto always "reviews" Zelda titles before their release, and is not hesitant to make final changes. There has never been a Zelda or Mario title where his name has been absent from the credits.
Yea you're right, he does suck. He totally wasted his life. Instead of being a genius pioneer in a billion dollar industry, he should be trolling the internet making stupid comments for attention. /s
Yea you're right. I mean, he's only been the producer in every single hit game in the Wii's entire lifespan: Super Mario Galaxy, Skyward Sword, Wii Sports etc..
What could the creator of Mario, Pokemon and Zelda possibly know about game quality? /s
One of my favorite games. Although I try not to compare it to the 3D titles, ALttP crushes all of the 2D games imo.
Yes... yes it is.
Nintendo needs Miyamoto waaay more than Miyamoto needs Nintendo. Shigeru Miyamoto can get a job anywhere in the video game industry.
Did i miss something? When exactly did Miyamoto stop being a genius? Okay, he rejects 70% of the "new" ideas brought before him... but who cares? Miyamoto's games (Mario, Zelda, Pokemon etc.) ALWAYS make money, and have carried Nintendo on their backs for over the past 25 years.
If anybody needs to "take a ste...
I read this review a day or so before i bought Skyward Sword. It busted my bubble and i was worried. Had i really waited a year and a half for a 7.5?
Currently i am 3 dungeons in, and loving every damn second of it! Bravo Nintendo!
Not what i wanted to hear.
Personally, i am not one for beating around the bush. This review has answered my million dollar question, is Skyward Sword better than Ocarina of Time? No... and not better than the Wind Waker. IMO that would also put it behind Majora's Mask.
Nice read. As a black gamer i really enjoy reading articles like this.
IMO the title should read "Expect to see more African Americans/Blacks in the future video game industry". I am an optimist and a realist.
I am a realist in the sense that their is no simple answer to author's question. You have to look at all of the factors that may effect an individual's career choice: socioeconomic status, cultural backgrounds, racism etc..

@ Graey
The name of the show is Living Single. I don't know the actor's name, but he played Kyle.
I need to see more of this game. The first video was cool, but i have a bad feeling about the future of Killer Freaks' online multiplayer. I wonder if Ubisoft is even willing to go that route?
Is Killer Freaks an online multiplayer type fps, or an innovative launch title meant to show off superior graphics?
It is about money, and you don't have to flop to lose money. All of the highest selling games for the Wii have Miyamoto's name in the credits. He's not building them from the ground up these days, but all big budget games must meet his final approval before release.
Think of it as your favorite boxed product removing that "seal of approval" or "guarantee".
