I don't think it is as much about multitasking but about snapping between different applications without delay and snapping back.
Haven't placed a pre-order for either console either seems like a good strategy.
Microsoft realy sucks at marketing they should have kept their cards closed on which countries the xb1 would launch first.
Not sure if I should believe them but if they haven't already made the xb1 compatible with European television providers boxes it probably is not a bad move, in order to prevent maybe even more negative publicity.
Cna choose to import or maybe go for the free pack in game. Curious what pack in game will be included
It is mainly the requirement of high speed internet that is limiting for streaming services as gaikai and on-live. Remember that gaikai was able to stream games in a web browser.
The usage of cloud computing for games is still in development but could technically certainly be used on the xb360 and ps3 in order to develop large dynamic worlds located on servers.
true my mistake ps1 vs the n64, bubbel for being helpful.
Microsoft will be fairly successfully not sure by how much. I don´t believe they will fail. Unless Microft somehow manages to device a marketing-plan to attract the mass consumer market, which just seems unlikely at the current price.
My guess at the moment is that the competition between the ps4 and xb1 will play out the same way as the ps2 vs the n64 in numbers/success not talking about games or ip´s.
I do see your point, to be fair he is talking about remote play on the ps3 not sure why.
I do see psp selling more due to the ps4 remote play feature, though not that much more. I just agree with that it is a great device which at least for me and I expect others just is not worth buying at the current price level.
Mine neither though its one of those parts that are more likely too fail than others. Damn things are expansive to replace at least for lap-tops, though those are a lot smaller.
good to hear that they are positive as a developer towards Microsoft and awesome to hear that the game will also come to the ps4.
The xb1 needs the kinect in order to achieve its goal to become a central entertainment device and promise made to developers that each console will have a kinect.
I believe that the new kinect is an integral part of Microsoft business plan. With the build in ir blaster it allows the kinect/xb1 to control/manage other devices in the living room. Allowing it to be used outside of an gaming context. Something which non gamers and more casual gamers might find very interesting. ...
depends if you just need to replace the brick...
Either way I guess microsoft will send you a box for shipping like they did with the xbox360, in which case they will pay for shipping
Because it is a competitive market inclusion of headset probably is due to competition of ps4 and consumer feedback.
In the end xb1 fans should be happy with the inclusion of headset. Ps4 fans should be happy sony also includes a headset.
I agree in that they should not put third party services such as netflix or free to play games behind a paywall.
I do understand why they would want a credit card tied in to on-line account in order to prevent abuse of services by predators or other criminals when considering skype and whatever means of video chat used by the console.
Looks good like the power on button, usb3 and the inclusion of headset. I like that they kept the batteries in the controller,I always have some spare recharged batteries for my wireless electronics.
Microsoft has said that they will fight against NSA. While this does not means much if consumers find out they are using kinect to spy on consumers it would mean a heavy blow to Microsoft xb1.
Bringing this up solely because there are a number of tech savy gamers/developers who would notice any spying going on with the xb1.
Nice list of games playable on the xb1, Microsoft seems to be doing well. Good times to be a gamer.
...
"What's more, during that time it needs to operate almost silently in order to earn its place in the living room." end quote
Esram is not mentioned in the article, though it is definitely part of `understanding the console before we use them`as mentioned in the article.
I guess the main point being made in this article is that even though both consoles are more pc like, developing for a new generation places a heavier load on technical resources.
I do believe this is the case in the UK other european countries seem to favour the ps3. Either way to did look it up for you vg chartz estimates +/- 31 m ps3 sold compared to +/-24 m xbox 360 sold in Europe.
Compared to the old kinect seems to me like the lag has been reduced in a rather big way. Question is if reduced amount of lag and precision allows for devs to make something enjoy-full to play. I would love to go hands on and see how much lag there is.
