Sony is using gaikai for its cloud services and Microsoft plans to further enhance their games with ´cheap-free´cloud support. Not much a miracle but useful in its own ways

@morganfell lets look back at the ps3 launch, you have got to at least agree that with the ps4 they are doing everything what they did with the ps3 right.

1 launched a few months after xb360
2 was quite expansive
3 was delayed in europe
4 controller had no rumble and 'boomerang rumours'
5 bad pr lot of ps 3 fail memes
6 Only till recently the ps3 has been outselling the xb360 on a global wide base
Lets be fair the xb1 it was the worst announcement/ introduction of any consoles, with al the controversy surrounding drm.
With the worst launch (after 2000)the ps3 really takes the cake. Sony has clearly learned from their mistakes with the ps3.
Like the article mentions let's take this with a grain of salt.
Are discounts also part of the program? I thought Microsoft already used some kind of monthly discounts.

It is the same as was leaked but with more details. After the hUMA rumours for the ps4 It was not clear if the xb1 could do the same trick. Now they also seem to be capable of using unified memory similar to hUMA (allowing for lower latency). Also interesting is the inclusion of 8gb flash (guess only usage for that is quickly saving of game status).
In the end it is pretty clear that Microsoft has modified their standard chips, but there are still questions...
True would be a big plus. though to be clear I don't think it would end up being sold to another company, but simply the formation of a separate entity/daughter company by the issuing out of new shares.

After hotchips Microsoft seems to be fine in better position than I first assumed, as they are using something similar to hUMA.
I do believe the ps4 has the better hardware.
But I am interested in the NDA of 29 sept to see what the further hardware details are of the xb1 are.
It has not been confirmed if the servers provided to developers by asure will be free or will very cheap.

In either case it will be interesting to see how large a noticeable graphics gap there will be.
I would have preferred a presentation more focused towards the ps4 and less attention on the ps vita.
Fair shot though I found it kinda awkward moment in their presentation.

Service has already been extended from november to december 2013. No announcements have been made for this service to continue in 2014. Since it is clear that this is a competitive move against Sony the service will most likely continue as long as the service of Sony does.
Its likely that xbone won't offer this service so if it will continue for the 360 it will most likely be under another name.
