Not a big fan of current disc based media (blu-ray, DVD etc). Since the design is rumored too have a snes design. I really hope they are going to use some kind of "cartridge"/sd-card medium.
Xbox live does provide a good service, maintaining xbox live does cost money. Question should be if this warrants the price.
Looking at the article:
1: Working as customer support sucks esspecially if people yell at you, be nice and you will most likely not experience any problems.
2:it's a good thing Microsoft tries to prevent users from changing their (unique) xbox live gamer tag.
3:xbox live is both peer to peer and server based depending on the game....
Either way, xbox 360 is expanding their brand too more (casual,Older people, children) gamers. It is very possible that kinect will reduce the number of core games, assuming that none of the developers will be able too use kinect in a hardcore game. But on the other hand good or bad it will lead too more xbox 360 exclusives.
It's an american thing, as far is I know we don't have a black history month in europe or for that matter the rest of the world. Black history month is overkill event though it is an important part of american history. One day should be fine if it's just to remember the mistakes made in the past.
still not sure about buying a kinect, because of the price and lack of games maybe I can find a second hand kinect somewhere for a reasonable price.
It's a gaming input device. And because of the novelty of it hackers find it interesting fun or whatever too develop hacking tools too see in what kind of ways kinect can be used.
In this case transcreen is being used displaying the processing image of the imagery received from the infrared camera. Besides looking cool there are more interesting hacks out there.
Things like transportation, packaging, marketing, and last but not least R&D. The biggest cost of natal are of course those for the R&D(or buying of companies/ technology).
The software solutions provided by microsoft for the infrared camera and emitter, skeletal tracking and of course the software for voice+ face recognition etc,do require some if not allot of money..
Limitations are the bandwidth to the xbox 360 (doens't use usb2) and the accuracy of the infra-red dots. The biggest limitation probably is the bandwidth. If you want too track the hands on a 360 you most likely won't be able too do full skeletal mapping at the same time, in that case you could use the zoom function of the kinect on the hands for some (very basic) hand recognition (limited by infrared dots).
wanted to buy a windows 7 phone last month but my provider (t-mobile nl) doesn't have the phone in stock yet, they didn't even know when they would have it in stock, my contract is running out this month.
The psp phone is running on android supported by sony Ericsson in comparison the windows phone well is running on windows 7 and is supported by multiple manufacturers. The psp phone is one of those things that make me ask why even bother after seeing the n-gage failure.
Please read before commenting basicly he thinks kinect has too much technical problems. In other words being reason why sony wouldn't opt in with kinect technology.
Game-play is the most important, next comes art direction and finally graphics.
Graphics have come a long way, but in the end you will get used to the graphics, after that point the game play will make or break the game.
companies really shouldn't confuse potential buyers too much. This will not mean that people already owning a pseye1 need to buy a pseye 2.
Fitness evolved doesn't exactly show you how kinect sees you, it only shows how the ubisoft software sees you;aka the software ubisoft used too calibrate how it sees you. Depending on the software of kinect(which calibrates kinect)can see you in different ways.
It is a hack except if you can tell me you can connect kinect too your computer, without going past the protection put in place by microsoft too prevent people connecting kinect too their pc or other hardware devic...
remind me why a japanese developper, which specializes in porting classic games from older (mostly nintendo)platforms to new ones, whould even care about the ps3 and xbox 360 numbers. For that matter how much of a credible source are they for that kind of information...
True even microsft realised that. Normal 360 controller isn't cut out for 2D fighters. But the new one (with adjustable d-pad) might be.
Most hardcore 2d (xbox360) fighter fans would more likely buy this new controller than kinect. Sucks that microsft overpriced the controller though.
In a perfect world everybody would own both consoles and the number would always be a tie. And nobody would have too fight over something as trivial as which big company sold the most.
Microsft uses infrared receiver and emitter, like the wii only in one camera device.
Not much reason why at least the demo wouldn't work, even if it is a opticial illusion by tracking your head. It still means a semi 3D experience which isn't bad for your eyes. Probably have too wait and see it implemented.
It will work out for Microsoft they are selling kinect with a profit + they increased the price of xbox live.
It has yet too be seen if it will work out for the gamers, my guess is it will maybe not for the hardcore. But it is still a welcome piece of technology too interact with the xbox 360 which will expand the xbox 360 brand too more gamers. The casual market has a lot of money in it which the game industry needs to create (new) hardcore AAA games.
probably something related to tablets
Definitely Nintendo. A new console combined with some new games for the 3DS,Wii and maybe their new hardware.
Second Sony, because they most likely will be showcasing their ngp and a slew of exclusives.
Microsoft last why? simply because they will talk about gears of war kinect games added xbox live functionality (skype) etc.
At least that is what I would expects who knows what the 3 companies might have hidden up on their sleeves.
