Seeing the sales figures for Returnal makes me appreciate how hard it is to sell a game. I loved that game, and I can’t imagine going through the trouble of getting a ps5 and not having it. It is THE best game to play on the ps5, second only to maybe R&C if the player doesn’t like super challenging games for whatever reason. I don’t know if all 10 million units sold actually made it to players yet, and I don’t know how much the R&C bundle in the EU affects this, but ultimately… <...

I gotta say Orchard, I disagree with everything on that list being either Jim Ryan’s fault, or necessarily being a bad thing.
I didn’t want Days Gone 2 (I’d prefer a new IP to a sequel to an open world game), I was ready to pay $70-90 for AAA games back when X360/PS3 avoided the price hike with new DLC ways of hacking games into separate packages (I’d rather pay more upfront, and $70 isn’t Jim Ryan’s fault), and I personally love the Directors Cut approach to the back PS4 g...
Yeah it sounds like price hikes are inevitable for AAA games unless they can expand the audience, and it’s only shrinking since younger consumers are adopting f2p games like fortnite instead.
I hope some devs aren’t afraid to charge what they need for a high quality experience.
