don't do a straight up conversion of USA or Japan prices to get the UK price. The UK price is going to be a whole lot more than 315 pounds. It was originally announced to be 425 pounds and now there is a rumor that it is going to be even more than that.

Microsoft hasn't done any price cuts. The retail prices of 299.99 and 399.99 are the same as they were from launch. If you are seeing them for less anywhere, then it is the retailers that are setting those prices,not Microsoft.
The Best Buy near my house had a huge pile of 360's stacked up from the time of the PS3 and Wii launches. They easily had 100 or more stacked up in various places around the store. When I went to get my Wii, they didn't have very many 360 at all. 360 are selling even though Microsoft isn't having the production and distribution issues that are dogging Wii right now.
