So you would pay $600 for the PS3, if it came with no media player at all??
I thought it was a years worth of Sony hype that stopped people from buying Dreamcast that killed it.
the European launch is coming up short. Looks like you guys get it up the butt from both Sony and Nintendo this year.
they need to be outpacing Sony in production and distribution in Europe if they want to stay ahead of them once they launch in March. Europe is going to be the crucial battleground this time.
there may be no PS3 for Motorstorm to be played on.
It's a hindrance. If Sony had put readily available and cheap DVD drives in the PS3, there would be enough units for all on the market and a he77uva lot more people would be able to afford them. But no, Sony has got to have a freakin Blu Ray player in the damn thing. Now they are single handedly wrecking both their video game division, as well as their home electronics division along with the investments made by their partners to keep the Blu Ray project going. Even with the losses that the B...
that Sony just doesn't seem to get it. They want people to love them by putting advanced technology into their lives, but they just go about it so very wrong. People want the freedom to choose which options they want. People want good products at affordable prices. They don't care if Blu Ray turns out to be 50x better than HD-DVD, if the players and the movies cost more, they won't buy them. They don't care if the image on Sony's TV's is 20% sharper than the leading competitor. If the leading...
are going to regret making this a PS3 exclusive.
and I watched King Kong just fine through my 360's VGA cable. This is one of the reasons why MS allowed for VGA usage, because most people already have a monitor in their homes capable of at least 720p displays, so if you are a 360 owner, all you need is a $40 cable if you get the official Microsoft one. Generic ones are for sale on ebay for even less. Is there a VGA option for PS3?? I haven't heard of it yet. So if you own a PS3 and want HD output, you have to buy not only an HDTV if you don...

It's still being shown as a work in progress, so after an additional year of development time, it is probably looking a lot better than than those old trailers.
a workaround is a way to achieve the same result with a little more effort than if you did it in the normally accepted way. You do not achieve the same result doing this, because the image degrades to 480i.
turn that crap off about a third of the way through.
they are putting DVD layers on HD discs is for people who only have DVD right now but plan to upgrade to HD-DVD in the future. They can buy their movies now and watch them in their exisiting players, and then play the same disc in their HD-DVD player when they finally upgrade without having to buy the same movie again. It's a transitional stage, and probably won't last long, but it does give people a reason to buy HD-DVD discs now, even if they don't have a player for the HD content yet.
Sounds like that fanboy is about 2 seconds away from becoming a 360 fanboy, either that or the next bad news from Sony and his heads going to explode. All the Sony fanboys are probably saying the same thing right now. Maybe that caller was DJ??
Hey look:

He says he went out and got a 360 and GoW!!! We managed to steal one from you Sony!!!
1. Santa better leave me the game system I want, or Santa doesn't get the antidote for the poison I put in his milk and cookies.
is that Sony may now be banned from selling COD3 and RFOM on launch day in Germany. What does really leave German gamers to look forward to?? Every other game in the launch is already available on 360.
Motorstorm killer

that they actually had 10 million sales??? Everything I ever read says they plan to have 10 million by year end. And where's your links to the two sources you claim to be saying this??
The public is speaking, and they don't like PS3 or Blu Ray. Run fanboys, run.
that the majority of PC games still ship on CD. DVD hasn't even taken over there yet.
